@ShamsCharania Wemby truly is untouchable. League won’t touch him. A revenge elbow would require a running start and maybe jumping off someone’s back, WWE style. Absolutely untouchable
@HPbasketball A college basketball player in OK died recently from an inadvertent elbow. It appears they’re taking the outcome (Naz didn’t miss time) into consideration. I don’t like that precedent. An act that violent should be a suspension based on potential damage.
@ScarfStraws@NateDuncanNBA Thank you! Let Jake Laravia, Austin Reaves, and Luke Kennard use their incredible frames, strength, and athleticism, and we’d have a good series. All of the Lakers incredible, elite defenders are just being reffed differently than all of OKCs elite defenders.
@kawhi_ring This is wise. Nameless, faceless accounts who exist only to generate engagement discovered that flopping was the easiest, quickest way to get 1 mil views. So they rage bait. It’s poisoned the discourse around the league.
@AndrewDBailey Rightly so. OKC is the only team that flops. Every other team has 7 elite defenders, just like OKC. AR, Kennard, LaRavia, etc could be all NBA defense too, but they don’t get to use their incredible frames and physicality the way Lu, Cason, AC, Ajay, etc. do. It’s maddening.
@Shane00 I hate efficiency too. Also hate humble, family guys who never make drama, and cheer for their teammates. Don’t get me started on underachievers who rely on hard work and developed skill to exceed any expectations anyone had for them. It’s disgusting
@vinaykillawala Exactly. Let all of those elite, physical, all defense perimeter defenders that LA has actually do their thing. If Austin, Luke, and Jake weren’t being held back by the officials, we’d have a tight series right now. Being robbed of an incredible series.
@TheHerd@jasonrmcintyre If only the refs let AR, Kennard, 41yo LBJ, and Jake LaRavia lock up and be physical the way that OKCs multiple All NBA defenders lock up and be physical. Then we’d have a competitive series!
@deetdedee@HPbasketball I get it. We small market teams need the draft. The Jazz should try to lose as inconspicuously as possible haha And you’re right, there are nice players available 1-8, but you’re due. Good luck the rest of the way. Great core, and a top 8 pick would solidify it.
@deetdedee@HPbasketball I think the Jazz should milk every injury they can, absolutely. No problem with injuries and being conservative there.
The Thunder lost by an NBA record margin (490 points) over their last 25 games. Horford wasn’t changing that haha
@deetdedee@HPbasketball We’ll never know how the balls would have bounced 🤷♂️ They were close to the Pacers. Maybe they tie or end up behind them with 1-2% less chance at top 4. Lottery luck is important, no doubt. Jazz have been incredibly unlucky.
@deetdedee@HPbasketball Also, I don’t like shutting AD/Young down for the season, but they’re recovering from injuries. Certainly they could push to return, and that would be the “ethical” thing to do. Utah is the ugliest tank of the season, and therefore getting the most attention.
@Tyler_Dota2@HPbasketball If the front office has built a team good enough to win, but the coach and players are fully on board with throwing games, the NBA doesn’t have a product anymore. Make up an injury. Still don’t like it, but it’s better than a coach sitting an All-Star caliber player to lose.
@Tyler_Dota2@HPbasketball My pic is me watching SGA get the MVP too. I’m not hiding 😂 I’m ok with tanking when the variance between talent and performance is marginal. Jazz have a ton of talent, Ainge said they were done tanking, and they’ve shamelessly tanked. Same goes for the Pacers.
@MottoMotto123@HPbasketball Because their ceiling is clearly the highest of any tanking team. Lauri, JJJ, Key, and Nurkic could make a run at the play-in against their remaining schedule (one of the easiest in the league). No other tank team outside of Indiana has close to as much talent as the Jazz.
@DesWtf@HPbasketball I know you didn’t ask me haha but I don’t mind it because the young guys are only marginally worse than the old vets. There’s a legit argument for developing young players over playing guys in the twilight of their careers. Serves two purposes
@HPbasketball Yeah I’m a Thunder fan, and I remember them shutting down SGA after he sprained his ankle in the latter part of the season. No issue with injury related stuff. Absent that, it’s how far below your ceiling you’re playing. Sitting multiple healthy rotation guys is too far.
