Sustainable progress starts with equipping individuals through knowledge, innovation, and access to contemporary resources.
MONDAY MOTIVATION
The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is often the courage to keep going when others stop. This new week is a blank page waiting for your story.
Refuse to be distracted by setbacks or discouraged by delays.
COMMITTED TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Rt. Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade exemplifies this principle through consistent action focused on advancing human development, empowering individuals, supporting families, and strengthening communities.
Reconstruction and rehabilitation works have commenced on failed sections of the Adatan–Car Wash Road in Abeokuta as part of our continued commitment to improving road infrastructure and enhancing the motoring experience of residents.
The intervention covers the Car Wash–Moore Junction corridor, where contractors are currently undertaking the reconstruction of the bad portions of the road to restore durability, improve traffic flow, and ensure safer movement for motorists and other road users.
We appreciate the patience, cooperation, and understanding of residents and commuters during the construction period and assure them that every effort is being made to ensure the timely completion of the project for the benefit of all.
The popular Sagamu Interchange in Ogun State is now a beautiful sight to behold as the Federal Government advances roadworks on this important project.

Ogun Clears Eight-Year Pension and Gratuity Backlog
The @OGSG_Official has cleared pension and gratuity arrears owed to workers who retired between 2012 and 2020, reaffirming its strong commitment to the welfare of retirees.
Speaking at a media parley, the Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, @Dapo_Okubadejo, explained that the backlog was inherited under the Defined Benefits Scheme, stressing that the administration of Dapo Abiodun has not missed a single month of pension payments since assuming office.
According to him, annual pension payments rose from ₦6.7 billion in 2019 to ₦20 billion in 2025, with projections of ₦40 billion by 2029. So far, ₦23.3 billion has been paid in gratuities to state retirees from 2012–2020, alongside ₦32.8 billion inherited for local government retirees. Between 2019 and July 2025, the state disbursed over ₦188 billion in pensions to state and local government retirees combined.
He added that remaining backlogs will be cleared as IGR improves, noting that workers who retired in July 2025 are already receiving six-month palliatives pending documentation. He also described the newly approved Additional Pension Benefit (APB) as a first of its kind in Nigeria.
On fiscal growth, Ogun’s economy expanded from ₦3.5 trillion in 2019 to ₦18.96 trillion in 2026, while IGR grew from ₦50 billion to ₦240 billion, with higher projections ahead. The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Olaolu Olabimtan, added that the 2026 budget reflects strong reforms and sustained financial stability.

Chaos on Ogun State Facebook:
That popular pastor uploaded photos of a road constructed 5 yrs ago in Ogun State and lied to his audience that it's a project being undertaken by a LG Chairman in Lagos state, using that as an opportunity to take a shot at Governor DA.
He deleted after his own audience began calling him out that the photo is of the Abeokuta--Sagamu expressway constructed by the same DA that he is using the post to insult. They also called out his new pattern of crediting other people for what DA has done.
Recall that few weeks ago, after people commended Ogun State govt for using concrete on the sections of the Otta---Abeokuta expressway prone to failure, he went to the section with Asiwaju banner and lied to the camera that the road is being reconstructed by Asiwaju, not Governor Dapo Abiodun.
We all know what we are doing.
IPERU–ILISHAN ROAD ENTERS FINAL ASPHALTING STAGE
The reconstruction and dualisation of the Iperu–Ilishan Road has reached a major milestone, with binder and wearing course asphalt now being laid across sections of the corridor, marking the project’s entry into its final stage.
This 5.3-kilometre strategic road, which links Iperu to Ilishan and serves as a critical connection to the Gateway International Airport and the Sagamu–Benin Expressway, has progressed beyond earthworks, extensive drainage construction, and stone-base layers. With active asphalt works ongoing, the road is visibly taking its final shape.
We note the steady pace of work delivered so far, including completed drainage systems and stabilised base courses that provide a strong foundation for long-term durability. Upon completion, this road will significantly improve mobility, enhance safety, reduce travel time, and stimulate commercial activities for communities along the corridor and airport-bound commuters.
With the completion of this road and the Sagamu–Sapade Road, the Gateway International Airport will become one of the most easily accessible airports in Nigeria, seamlessly connected from the North, South, East, and West. This integrated road network is central to our plan to position Ogun State as a major logistics, aviation, and investment hub.
We remain committed to delivering a high-quality, durable road that meets top engineering standards and supports our broader agenda of strengthening infrastructure and accelerating economic development across Ogun State.

Honestly, projects like the Iperu–Ilishan Road go far beyond just fixing a bad road. What is happening here is the deliberate building of a network that makes Ogun State truly functional and competitive. When you look at this road alongside the Sagamu–Sapade corridor, you begin to see a clear strategy: opening up access to the Gateway International Airport from every direction in Nigeria.
Ogun State Strengthens Housing Development as Prince Court Estate, Kobape, Records Rapid Growth
Housing development continues to gain momentum in Ogun State under the Prince @DapoAbiodunCON-led administration, with several structured residential projects reshaping the state’s urban landscape. One of such projects is Prince Court Estate, Kobape, Abeokuta, a multi-phase housing scheme commissioned under the current government.
Prince Court Estate spans Phases One to Four and has emerged as one of the fastest-growing residential locations in the state. Strategically located a few minutes from Lagos, the estate enjoys good road connectivity to Abeokuta and major Lagos corridors, making it attractive to homeowners, professionals, and investors.
Beyond Prince Court, the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration has continued to expand housing delivery across the state through residential schemes in Sagamu, Ilaro, Kemta (Abeokuta), Ijebu-Ode, Warewa, and Iperu, alongside other completed estates including Ibara GRA and PMB Estates. Upcoming projects such as Siun Estate, Havilah Estate, and ISEYA Courts in Abeokuta further reflect the government’s sustained commitment to housing development.
These developments underscore a broader drive towards structured urban growth, improved housing access, and the creation of sustainable communities across Ogun State.

Construction Advances on 100.5km Obelle–Ilaro–Papalanto–Sagamu Road
Construction work is progressing steadily on the 100.5-kilometre Obelle–Ilaro–Papalanto–Sagamu Road in Ogun State, a major infrastructure project being executed by the Dangote Group under the Federal Government’s Tax Credit Scheme.
Governor @DapoAbiodunCON said the state government played a key role in facilitating the project, describing the road as a strategic corridor with far-reaching importance for Ogun State and the national economy. He noted that the road, when completed, will provide a seamless alternative route for commuters from Sango, Iyana Ipaja, and Itori, reducing pressure on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway and the Abeokuta axis.
Expanding Poultry Processing and Strengthening Food Security in Ogun State
We have taken another decisive step in repositioning agriculture as a pillar of our economic transformation and food security agenda. With the completion of a 5,000-birds-per-day poultry processing facility at Ajegunle Farm Settlement, Odeda Local Government Area, under the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP), Ogun State now has the capacity to process an additional 1.3 million birds annually. This intervention will significantly reduce poultry importation and strengthen local production at a time Nigeria still imports about 70 per cent of its poultry needs.
Ajegunle Farm Settlement, which we have designated as a poultry hub, currently hosts about 400 resident farmers and continues to attract private investors. We have provided supporting infrastructure including blast freezers, cold rooms, waste processing facilities, a modern warehouse with fitted offices, and poultry pens with a combined capacity of 20,000 birds. We are encouraged by the growing private sector confidence, as a private investor has just completed a 13,000-capacity poultry pen within the settlement.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CENTRE FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, HEALTH AND FAMILY ENHANCEMENT INITIATIVES DEBUNKS RUMOURS ON EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY ACCIDENT
The Centre for Community Development, Health and Family Enhancement Initiatives wishes to categorically debunk the false and misleading rumours circulating on social media and other platforms regarding an alleged lack of ambulance services and medical personnel following the recent road traffic accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway involving Anthony Joshua and the tragic loss of two of his friends.
As an organisation that has worked closely with the healthcare system of Ogun State over the years, we can confidently state that Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) and State Hospitals in Ogun State have witnessed rapid and significant improvement under the current administration. These improvements are evident in emergency preparedness, response time, availability of trained medical personnel, and deployment of modern medical equipment.
Contrary to the misinformation being spread, the section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway where the accident occurred is a six-lane road, free from potholes or major hitches, and does not support claims that poor road conditions contributed to delayed response or rescue efforts.
Furthermore, verified information confirms that there are about four fully equipped ambulances strategically positioned along that axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. These ambulances form part of the state's emergency response framework to ensure swift intervention in the event of road accidents or medical emergencies.
Eyewitnesses and passersby who were present at the scene of the accident have also confirmed that the victims were moved to a medical facility within a very short time. They commended the prompt actions and professionalism of the medical personnel as well as officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), whose coordination and efficiency played a crucial role in the rescue operation.
It is important to emphasize that the current Ogun State administration has invested heavily in the procurement of ambulances, deploying them across major highways and strategic locations within the state to enhance the safety of road users and ensure timely emergency medical response.
The Centre for Community Development, Health and Family Enhancement Initiatives urges members of the public to disregard unfounded rumours and unverified claims, and instead rely on factual information from credible sources. While we mourn the tragic loss of lives in this unfortunate incident, it is imperative that public discourse remains responsible, factual, and supportive of institutions that continue to work tirelessly to protect lives.

We are currently executing the reconstruction of the Iperu–Ilishan corridor. The road spans 5.3 kilometres and is being dualized to meet the needs of the communities along the route. This upgrade will also provide direct access from the Gateway International Airport to the Sagamu–Benin Expressway. As part of the project scope, we are constructing more than 5.0 kilometres of drainage and outfall systems designed to permanently address the flooding challenges that previously affected this environment. This is the same strategic road that passes through the Gateway International Airport, making its expansion even more critical for accessibility and future traffic flow.
Work is progressing in phases. Earthworks and major drainage installations are ongoing, while laterite placement continues across various sections. Several portions ahead of the current active zone have already reached stone-base level and are now ready for asphalting. This demonstrates the pace and structure we have established to ensure steady, uninterrupted progress on the project.
The Iperu–Ilishan road remains an important socioeconomic link, serving residents, businesses and airport-bound commuters. Its reconstruction is essential for mobility, commerce and overall community development. Our focus is on delivering top-quality engineering using the best materials and maintaining high professional standards so the people along this axis can enjoy a durable and efficient road network. We remain fully committed to completing the reconstruction by Christmas 2025.

UPDATE ON ODE–SAPADE ROAD PHASE 3 PROJECT
We are pleased to inform our people that steady progress continues on the reconstruction of the Ode–Sapade Road, which has now entered its final phase under our administration.
From our latest assessment, binder-asphalt laying is moving smoothly from chainage 3+600 up to the Sapade Junction on both carriageways. On the other side of the corridor, our engineers are regrading and compacting the stone base in readiness for priming ahead of asphalt placement.
We have successfully completed Phases One and Two of the project, covering Sagamu to Iperu, and both sections are already in full use by motorists.
Phase Three, which is currently in full execution, includes the dualisation of the existing road, milling of the old asphalt, installation of essential highway furniture, and the wearing-course overlay from chainage 0+00 (Ode Remo) to kilometre 5+500 (Sapade). This phase also covers an additional 200-metre link connecting the Ibadan Expressway to the Sapade–Ode corridor, bringing the entire stretch to a total of 5.5 kilometres.
By God’s grace, we remain on course to complete and hand over this entire section before Christmas 2025. We deeply appreciate the patience and cooperation of residents and road users along the corridor, and we reaffirm that delivering durable, high-quality road infrastructure across Ogun State remains a top priority of our administration.

At the 39th Akesan Day Celebration in Iperu-Remo, we emphasized that culture, when properly developed, can become a major driver of Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings. Around the world, many nations have diversified their economies through culture and tourism, and we believe Nigeria can achieve the same by promoting its numerous cultural festivals.
We noted that events like Akesan Day attract visitors who support local businesses and create jobs for artisans, entertainers, food vendors, hotels and transport operators. When fully harnessed, festivals become tourism platforms similar to Lisabi Day, Oronna Day, Ojude Oba and others, while also promoting unity, shared identity and social values.
We reaffirmed our commitment to preserving history, supporting cultural institutions and driving community development across Ogun State. We also commended President Bola Tinubu for his economic reforms and restated our readiness to align with the Federal Government for the progress of our people.
Contributions from cultural stakeholders and traditional leaders highlighted the significance of Akesan Day as a unifying event and a catalyst for ongoing development in Iperu.
