I love the work of it, too. I do. I don’t feel tortured by it or dread it. I genuinely love it. Some days I phone it in, sure, but I still do it. But I’m always open to critique and acknowledge that it’s literally the only way to improve.

I love writing. I want to be a better writer. I know I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’ll get there. I accomplish that by surrounding myself with people who are better than me and willing to lovingly show me where and how to improve, then challenge me to do the work.
