Remember folks, Jeremy Corbyn wanted to make the beloved Children In Need telethon obsolete. He wanted your local food banks to lose all of their customers. Do you want a man like that running the country?
the Tories aren't "saving money" with austerity. They're selling the nuts on the car wheels, removing the catalytic converter, taking off the windscreen wipers and pinching half the air from the tyres and hoping someone else is running the show when we notice
@_MediaTalk @JoshuaPHilll So just to clarify this, you think it's suspicious that we didn't hear much about long covid, a syndrome characterised by symptoms lasting more than 3 months, during the first months of the pandemic?
Earlier today I suggested that some authors are so litigious that they’ll come after you for even oblique jokes. This was ill-considered and wrong, and I apologize and retract the statement. I will also be making a £1000 donation to Therapists For Gender-appropriate Behaviour.
There’s a joy to watching the Tories absolutely beefing it that is only matched by the Labour gains being about as pathetic as they possibly could be under the circumstances, with the Lib Dems and GPEW nipping at their heels
I for one am not enjoying the Labour party stance that the Tories are too inept to do fascism whereas Labour will be able to do the fascism much more effectively
Anyway, point is: this is fascism. Bare-faced fascism, as government policy, with apparently little objection from the press. And I don't for one minute think that the creation of a class of outlaw is seen as a negative by the people doing it.
Conservatives don't hate immigrants, they hate immigrants who can avail themselves of the same employment rights as citizens. I didn't expect "we will allow you to be trafficked" to be full-throated government policy, though.
If you come to the UK illegally:
➡️ You can’t claim asylum
➡️ You can’t benefit from our modern slavery protections
➡️ You can’t make spurious human rights claims
➡️ You can’t stay
(note: I'm not making a moral judgement on sex work here, I'm very much in the "sex work is work" crowd. But those who want to end it sure want to try anything as long as it's not just making sure people's basic needs are met)
