This is Darren’s Journey to the Order of Sport 🧵
Growing up on the Garden River First Nation, Darren mainly played softball and hockey with his numerous uncles and cousins.
Everyone on the team was part of a large family, and this nurturing style was how he continued to see his teammates throughout his career.
Darren’s most storied tournament run occurred at the @ISCFastpitch World Championships in 1995.
In 10 straight games, Darren did not allow a single run, good for a record 150 strikeouts. Darren and his @TorontoGators won the World Championship for the 2nd time, after becoming the first Canadian team to win the top prize in 1993.
