At the TDSB, we do not tell students who they should be, but welcome them as they are. Please read our statement ahead of planned demonstrations this week: https://t.co/krBd1f8sxO

🚨EMERGENCY CALL TO ACTION🚨
Join 2SLGBTQ+ communities, labour groups, and allies in sending a strong message that hate has no place in Ontario.
Join us in a peaceful counter-protest on September 20, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. We will meet in Barbara Hall Park and march to Queen’s Park.
If you attend one of these counter protests, please prioritize safety, avoid conflict, and leverage the safety resources in the Ontario Federation of Labour link. 5/5
We know our parents are looking to respond to the anti-trans rallies happening on Wednesday, Sept 20 & following days. We don't have the capability to organize counter protests but we're happy to share info about events organized by others: 1/n
Ford's harmful comments have real-world consequences for many #2SLGBTQI+ youth!
If the gov't enacts this as policy, #OSSTF will vigorously defend its members in exercising their professional judgement in creating safe schools!

Dear Politicians (and others),
If you truly believe in protecting children and upholding human rights, you should not be using terms like "indoctrinate" and "woke" to scold educators, school boards, and allies for their law-abiding efforts to protect 2SLGBTQ+ students.
It's inappropriate, dangerous and demonstrates your willingness to trample on people's legal rights.
Do better.
Great article by a parent of a trans kid on how you support them, what the process is actually like and why kids should not be outed. Love, kindness, and support is what's needed. Hopefully, people can learn from the lived experience of trans families.
It’s a hard truth that some kids live with parents who are transphobic. No province should forcibly out gender nonconforming kids to these parents, writes Julie Malbogat. https://t.co/yzWC0VoZa9
We also urge all Toronto Pflag & other accepting families to let the minister/MPP know their thoughts on safe spaces at school and informing parents on pronoun changes. You can reach the minister at [email protected] and here's an email template https://t.co/xIlBM8LgY1
