My son was sitting near the window surrounded by books and scattered notes.
He looked slimmer than I remembered.
The moment he saw me, surprise crossed his face first…Then relief.
Neither of us spoke immediately.
I simply walked over and hugged him.
And somehow, in that silent moment, I understood everything.
He didn’t call because of an emergency. He called because life was becoming https://t.co/4A0uTLKpJ5 environment.Pressure.Responsibilities.And deep down, he just needed to feel connected to home again.
We spent the whole day together talking about ordinary things classes, routines, random stories but somehow those little conversations felt important.
I didn’t try to lecture him or solve every problem.I just listened.
Before I left, he smiled in a way I hadn’t seen in a long time.A genuine smile.Lighter.Peaceful.
On my flight back home, I kept thinking about something simple:
Sometimes people don’t need advice.Sometimes they don’t even know how to ask for help.
Sometimes your presence alone is enough to remind someone they are not carrying life by themselves ❤️
🚨 JUST IN: A migratory bird just shattered world records — flying 8,425 miles (13,560 km) NON-STOP across the Pacific without landing once.
The bar-tailed godwit doesn’t stop to eat, drink, or sleep during its migration across the Pacific Ocean. Its journey from Alaska to Australia takes roughly 11 days of continuous flight, covering over 13,000 kilometers through storms, headwinds, and open ocean with zero land beneath it the entire time.
Before departure, it does something almost surgical to its own body. It shrinks its digestive organs down to almost nothing, converting the stomach, intestines, and liver into raw fuel. The bird essentially eats its own gut to make room for fat reserves that will power its wings for nearly two weeks straight.
The brain doesn’t fully sleep either. Half of it stays active while the other half rests, alternating in shifts mid-flight at altitude over the open Pacific. The godwit is simultaneously unconscious and navigating with magnetic field sensitivity that no human instrument in the 18th century could replicate.
What makes this genuinely staggering beyond the physical record is the navigational precision involved. The bird leaves Alaska and arrives in New Zealand with accuracy that would embarrass early GPS systems. It reads Earth’s magnetic field, atmospheric pressure gradients, star positions, and potentially quantum-level compass mechanisms inside its eye that literally let it see magnetic field lines overlaid on its visual field.
Evolution spent millions of years building an aerospace navigation system inside a 300 gram animal.
We spend billions engineering machines that do what this bird does on instinct, fat reserves, and half a sleeping brain.
The longest recorded non-stop flight by a commercial aircraft is around 20 hours.
This bird does 11 days.
Without a runway.
@DaleSteyn62#T20WC2026 started with a bang..the Dutch almost had it...can the #TeamUSA do that...looks like an interesting days ahead as the league matches progress.
@mufaddal_vohra It's over. Any accountability whatsoever, do the organisers really take weather predictions seriously while scheduling such matches? Wonder, the 20/20 format playing guidelines explicitly asks for the matches to be played only under floodlights?
@mr_chitafa@michelappleton Instead of the current 5 days ,I would like to add 1 more day to Test format. Further, get rid of the current limitations of 2 bouncers in an over, should be atleast 3...give bowlers to express and the batters their skills.
@ESPNcricinfo English team is learning it hard way, finally some sensible approach. Let's see ,how they carry forward...if the duo go through the 2nd session too and an hour or so in 3rd session, closing hours Aussies bat, loose few wickets...Gabba will ignite Ashes 2025-26.
Bavummed!
#Proteas thrashed India 2-0, the biggest ever defeat(408 runs) in our playing history, that too...in our own backyard. Wake-up ⏰️ call for #BCCI#IndianCricket#INDvsSA#TestCricket
"We wanted them to really grovel" (South African Coach : Shukri).
Man! That hurts.
Even the last Kiwis 3-0 whitewash in our backyard seems insignificant.

@ProteasMenCSA Why Stubbs was in such a hurry in last few overs and lost the wicket,he & Mulder could've gone on to play till the fifth day and created history.
@ProteasMenCSA 288 runs 1st innings lead and almost 2.5 days of play left, any other teams approach would've been different for sure,but...proteas are wearing WTC on their sleeves for some reason.
@ESPNcricinfo Now,they're emotionally playing with Indian batting line up psyche...don't dare think abt winning, just dig in and survive the full 5th day.
@mufaddal_vohra ...and they haven't still declared their inning, looks like they will bat another one hour after the lunch session, approx 10 to 12 overs for India to bat...Will be interesting to see,how the pitch behaves on final day.
