🎲 YOUR SEED IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS RANDOMNESS

Who generated yours?

Most people never ask. They plug in a device, write down 12 or 24 words, and trust that the numbers behind them were truly random.

Two real cases show why that trust matters:

🔴 2023, "Milk Sad": a flaw in Libbitcoin Explorer, a command-line wallet tool, generated seeds with weak randomness. Attackers guessed them and emptied wallets.

🔴 July 2026, Coldcard: Coinkite disclosed a firmware bug that had weakened seed generation for years. The devices weren't hacked. Attackers rebuilt the weak keys offline and drained funds.

One detail stands out: according to Coinkite, seeds created with enough private dice rolls weren't at risk from this bug.

What you can do:
- Understand where your entropy comes from
- Add your own with dice, a method you can see and verify
- Cross-check the result with an independent tool before you fund the wallet

You can't verify what you don't understand.
That's why Bitcoin Holders spends a whole part on entropy before touching a single device.
