Bartłomiej Kubkowski became so exhausted during a 55-hour swim across the Baltic Sea that he began hallucinating and losing touch with reality, but completed the 160km swim.

The Polish ultra-swimmer covered roughly 160 kilometres from Sweden without sleeping or touching his support boat, becoming the first person to complete the crossing after four previous failed attempts.

He also raised over $200,000 for a children's cancer charity.
