A reminder to all Oyo State residents to call 615 to report security issues. It’s toll-free and requires no airtime. Please do not call to test the line. Kindly share🙏
@MobilePunch Have the fools told Mr president that the unnecessary loss of lives of our forces is unacceptable? If APC have not been dillydalling with the issue of state police, will the amotekun be esposed unfairly with Dane guns against criminals using sophisticated weapons? Wicked souls!
We are not ready in this country. Period.
It is the year 2026, and I am still completely baffled by how heavily dependent we are on physical cash. Why are we fighting so hard to stay in the dark ages?
It’s actually very simple: Cash is the foundation and the fuel for every major vice destroying this country.
- Ransom payments and armed robbery?Cash.
- Money rituals, street fraud, and massive embezzlement? Cash.
- Vote buying, political inducement, and "party mobilization funds"? 100% Cash.
You really have to sit back and ask yourself: Who are the real beneficiaries of this obsession with cash?
The answer is obvious. It’s the criminals—both the ones in the bush and the ones in high-ranking political offices—who want to operate with absolute anonymity.
They need a system where billions can move without a digital footprint. How else do you think politicians distribute billions during elections to buy votes and induce voters at polling units? You can't do "mobilization" via bank transfer without triggering alarms. They need physical paper to keep the corruption flowing.
Cast your mind back to the end of the Buhari administration when they aggressively pushed the cashless policy right before the elections. Love or hate that government, remember what happened? The crime rate dropped drastically, and politicians were sweating because their stacked billions became useless overnight.
For a brief moment, the system squeezed them.
But who were the ones at the forefront fighting against it? It wasn't just the ordinary market women—it was top government agents, governors, politicians, and shockingly, the traditional banks. Why? Because these banks make insane profits from cash operations, handling fees, and the sheer chaos of unmonitored liquidity. The political elite needed that cash back to survive.
And now, instead of fixing our digital infrastructure and forcing transparency, what is the government doing? They are testing waters and flying kites about creating even larger currency denominations! It’s totally backward.
Look at how advanced economies operate. In places like the UK, Scandinavia, or even parts of Asia, handling large amounts of cash makes you an automatic suspect. Try walking into a bank there with a bag of cash or trying to buy a car with paper money—the anti-money laundering (AML) triggers will flag you before you even leave the building. They understand that to kill crime and political corruption, you have to starve its financial oxygen.
But here? We hug the cash tightly because the people who benefit from the lawlessness are the ones making the rules.
Until we intentionally choke the flow of untraceable cash, all these security meetings and anti-corruption speeches are just pure cinema.
We are simply not ready.

The police should also have posted something, like the getaway car picture from d recorded video made by a citizen on local media and social media platforms. Also the state emergency number 615 should also be aggressively pushed and ingrained into the consciousness of people so the first thing dt comes to mind in any untold situations is to call the number.
Are the traditional banks not at the forefront of the fight against the cashless policy though I'll timed pushed by buhari? All there server conveniently had issues throughout the period , hurding cash for their side business, also some govs were so desperate to retain cash operations.
All serious Governors in Nigeria and especially in the Southwest should immediately put in place some strict security measures while waiting for FG's national security measures.
1. **Mandatory State Residency ID:** Governors must enact laws making it mandatory for anyone taking up residence in their state for more than 6 months to register for a biometric State Residency Card. Registration must be open to everyone currently residing in the state.
2. **The "No ID, No Service" Policy:** We must make it impossible to live comfortably as an undocumented ghost. Anyone who wishes to access services provided by the state government directly or indirectly must be asked to authenticate their residency and identity. You cannot use state public hospitals, enroll your kids in public schools, or access government resources even private ones as they are licensed by govt, if you refuse to be profiled.
3. **Ban on Mass Human Cargo in Haulage Trucks:** Governors must immediately invoke state traffic and safety laws to criminalize the movement of humans inside containerized trailers or cargo trucks. You cannot transport 50 undocumented men at 2 AM hidden under bags of onions or cows. Any truck caught doing this should be instantly intercepted, the occupants profiled, and the truck permanently impounded.
4. **Criminalize Anonymous Tenancy:** State Houses of Assembly need to pass laws making it a criminal offense for any landlord or real estate agent to rent property to anyone without a verified National or State ID. The tenancy details must be digitally uploaded to a state registry within 48 hours of moving in.
5. **Mandatory Domestic Staff Profiling:** It must be illegal to hire any domestic worker (house helps, drivers, security guards) without registering them. They are entitled to register for residency, and they must use evidence like their employer's notarized rent receipt or utility bill as proof of their address.
6. **Electronic Interstate Manifests:** Eradicate the analogue, useless paper manifests at motor parks. State Ministries of Transport must mandate that every commercial vehicle leaving or entering a state terminal must log an electronic manifest tied to the verified IDs of the passengers. If your bus is stopped by state task forces and the digital manifest doesn't match the faces, the vehicle is seized.
7. **Biometric Profiling of Commercial Riders:** Every Okada and Keke rider must be biometrically captured and assigned a unique, scannable QR code printed on a state-issued vest. If you operate without it, the bike is crushed. No more anonymous riders carrying out reconnaissance for kidnappers.
8. **Digital Market & Artisan Registries:** To own a market stall, operate a kiosk, or run an artisan workshop within the state, you must be registered on the state database. Anonymous trading and unregulated commercial hubs must end.
9. **Accountability for Traditional Rulers and CDAs:** Community Development Associations (CDAs) and local chiefs often issue letters of identification for residency registration. State laws must hold them criminally liable as accomplices if they issue these clearance documents to undocumented migrants, bandits, or criminals hiding in their domains.
10. **State-Backed Neighborhood Watch Integration:** Don't just give local vigilantes flashlights and whistles. Integrate them with the state residency database. If someone new moves into a neighborhood, the local CDA and neighborhood watch must legally verify their profile with the state registry.
The tools are there. These laws can be drafted and passed in a week. But do Governors actually have the political will to choke the system, or are they benefiting from the chaos?

This is 2026, and the security situation in this country is degenerating at an alarming rate. Yet, the government is playing politics with our lives.
Every single day, anonymous entities; kidnappers, bandits, and unknown gunmen keep operating freely, collect billions in ransom, and disappear into thin air. Why? Because there is zero way of tracking or apprehending them.
Nigeria needs to declare an absolute State of Emergency on national identity right now and the Presidency (@NGRPresident) and the National Assembly (@NGRSenate) should pay attention to this, because you have to ask yourself a very serious question: Why don't we want to enforce a strict, real-time registration and identification of everybody in this country? Is there a hidden agenda to keep the system blind?
We talk about identity like it is just for catching thieves, but the importance goes way beyond that. A unified identity system is the bedrock of a functioning society. How do you plan an economy, distribute resources, or stop financial fraud when you literally don't know who is who? It’s about knowing exactly who is buying land, who is opening bank accounts, who is transferring millions, and who is consuming public infrastructure.
Let's be blunt: **All critical services and your very existence in the system should be denied if you do not want to register and identify yourself.**
You shouldn't be able to buy a SIM card, open a bank account, rent an apartment, or even board an interstate bus moving from one location to another anonymously is a serious security threat. If you want to be a ghost, you should not enjoy the privileges of a citizen. Period.
Look at Europe, they are aggressively pushing the EU Digital Identity Framework as a matter of strict national security. To them, controlling who moves, who transacts, and who accesses services is the first line of defense against terrorism and money laundering. In Asia, places like Singapore (with Singpass) and India (with Aadhaar) have turned digital identity into public infrastructure. You literally cannot function in those societies without the system verifying your existence in real-time.
But here? We treat identity like a voluntary club membership. And because of this deliberate blindness, the hands of the Nigeria Police Force (@PoliceNG) are practically tied and handicapped. How do you investigate a crime when the criminal has no digital footprint?
This structural madness doesn't stop there. Even if we fix identity today, we are still running a grossly inadequate, centralized Federal Police system for over 200 million people. It is mathematically and operationally impossible!
Go to the top secured countries. They operate on layered policing systems. Local police for grassroot intelligence, state police for interstate crime, federal police for high level cross state crime and national security threats.
This division of jurisdiction means every inch of the country is covered. But the only reason this multi-layered system works perfectly is **IDENTITY**.
A local cop in a small town can pull over a car, run the ID, and instantly know if that person is wanted by federal agencies. The databases talk to each other.
Until we aggressively force every single human being in this country into a unified, real-time identity database, and completely decentralize the police so locals can police locals, all these security meetings are still just a joke because we are just waiting for the next attack.
Infact major media houses like @channelstv, @ARISEtv, and @MobilePunch need to make this a daily conversation, not just reporting the casualties.

This situation even highlights the incompetence of this APC led govt, cuz if they have done their job, terrorist will not have the capacity to be operating around the country in such emboldened manner. Imagine negotiating with terrorists, now the terrorist's gut and audacity is becoming louder by the day, are u saying people are kidnapped and they ask the gov or president to resign or any other atrocious demand, they will do so cuz that is what is playing out here, infact these terrorists are still test running how far they can go, why this incompetent govt is looking clueless while the whole country is being overrunned.
Many govs are asking for state police and had to resort to setting up stopgap security like amotekun just because of the selfish, unaware, incompetent govt of the day, security situation would not have degenerated to these level. Worse is even the lawmakers beer parlor gathering that don't seem ready to do anything about the degenerating security situation of the country.
It's becoming clear now that this is not just a simple kidnapping crime but a more sinister move in the Southwest. Infact deep analysts will see they are not ready to release any of the victims and the govs should bound together to resist this movement in the Southwest. Make it cle that such campaign will not be tolerated here. Some pronouncements backed by state laws should be made against criminal agendas and ideologies. Very strict laws should be set here in the Southwest about identity. Don't come here if you have no identity. Many anonymous entities have infiltrated us in the name of *haa they are illetrates, na aboki, na beggers, they just come here to hussle". The criminal agenda of those that want to exist in Nigeria anonymously should be strictly resisted now in the Southwest. If you are here with no identity you are not different from a criminal!
@Sistaliano He has already done morein thousand fold what fayose could ever do. Since APC got to power it has been one calamity to the other and there's no low they are not ready to take the country to as long as they are chopping state resources.
