this is an open letter to @base — the value prop of shredding sassy on base. no ambiguity, no obscurity.

we’ve been curating this community for over 2 years. the culture runs deep. real friendships, real memories, real lore. you can’t fake that. you can’t accelerate it. time is a moat, and we’ve put in the hours.

we believe in hybrid. digital and physical. always both. we’ve run live events in over 4 countries: snow-based shredfests in tahoe, a surf trip + side event at nfc lisbon, another nfc brunch with base onboarding baked in. skate exhibitions in switzerland. we don’t just talk culture... we build it. on the ground. face to face. QR code onboarding. wallet activations. onchain competitions. people come for the vibes and leave onchain.

our audience isn’t just web3. it’s half crypto native, half real-world action sports heads who don’t own a single other NFT. we’ve earned that crossover. no gimmicks. just authenticity.

we launched @ShareTheShaka to onboard 1 million people to base. used linkdrop tech to make sharing via message or email seamless. the mechanic worked so well base adopted it for their own coinbase wallet flows. we onboarded over 50,000 wallets from eth and polygon communities. ran campaigns. ran education. ran vibes. we did that.

we’ve been loud supporters of the base ecosystem from day one - bought and redistributed NFTs from dinos, based fellas, mystcl, based nouns, tiny based frogs and more. whole month-long campaign in january 24 spotlighting other base projects. we show love. always.

we pioneered trait-based merch. made physical products that matched NFT traits. even built out wardrobe tools and blind box reveals. the entire system is being ported to base right now.

we’ve secured real partnerships. pit viper being one of them... this is the level we’re operating at.

we’ve built a premium product line with our hats and collectible pins at the center. we’re not selling merch... we’re building a lifestyle brand. sneakerhead energy. action sports energy. nostalgia-packed pack-ripping energy. these hats are NFC-chipped and will sit on shelves in surf and skate shops in portugal (and soon elsewhere). they literally onboard people to base when scanned. this is onchain commerce in the real world. and it’s just the start.

we’re also building a hybrid digital/physical collectibles platform. something brand new. we’ll bring more people onchain through fun and collecting than any defi yield strategy ever will.

impact matters to us. always has. we’ve raised more for charity than we’ve raised as a project. partnered with bored ape yacht club to auction a custom board. worked with bob burnquist and his foundation. supported slurb’s toys for tots drive. this isn’t a marketing line. it’s our DNA.

we’ve got pro athlete ambassadors repping at the highest levels globally. and for non pros we will be relaunching @shredit in the future... our platform for up-and-coming athletes and creators, built on base.

all of this to say... we’ve been here. we’re building for the long run. and we’re doing it right.
