8. The Drink Situation

Bourbon is the obvious answer, and it is correct. But Masters Week specifically calls for the Arnold Palmer, and not the spiked version, just the original, half sweet tea and half lemonade, drunk from a glass with too much ice because that's how you do it in April in the South when it's 74 degrees and sunny.

If you want to spike it, spike it with bourbon. If you want to be difficult, vodka is also permitted (The John Daly). Do not put tequila in an Arnold Palmer during Masters Week. There are limits.

Every single year, someone brings up Tiger in his prime versus the field today, and every single year, this conversation goes nowhere and takes 45 minutes to do it. Participate anyway.

The correct position, held by reasonable people, is that peak Tiger at Augusta was something that does not have a proper analogue in the sport and possibly in sports generally. The incorrect position is that this is debatable. There may or may not be some conversation about DUI’s as well.
