Sums the entire romance up in two panels: you know it’s hopeless, know you’ll have to face what’s coming alone, know you might even deserve it—but what if, against all reason, there was someone looking out for you in the dark, waiting for you to shine a light or ring a bell?
@girldrawsghosts For all people (fairly correctly) chide his penchant for realism in this, it felt like a very interesting insight into his perspective when Pattinson said recently that Nolan told him re: Batman that the cape and suit should never get damaged or dirty because “that’s unheroic”
@LegoKingo as someone who’s enjoying lego batman quite a bit, it does feel relevant to bring up that it does still have the same quality and engagement ceiling all lego games have, so if you’re not super in love with the format i wouldn’t call it an immediate must buy over Bond tbh
@ProfofEvil The further we get from it the more frustrating Gunn’s treatment of that aspect gets to me especially since it seems like the type of character he excels at. The implication that his Clark doesn’t like talking to the Kents or visit the farm is so juicy but nothing is done with it
@LegoKingo Ever since I first heard about it I keep coming back to the anecdote of Iger excitedly showing an early cut of TFA to Lucas, who’s thoughts upon finishing it were “There’s nothing new” coupled with “I think this is exactly what the fans want”. Really says it all lol
@Chloe_in_pink Just today I was telling some friends about how cool it is that in Y1, the absence of Bruce’s parents is color coded as black silhouettes on a white background, which is exactly how the bat that he interprets as a sign from his father is presented later

@BlackCasebook Me and some online friends recently started up a Batman book club and unsurprisingly started with this. Last read it when I was in middle school and the stuff you pick up when you’re older is crazy good. So many insane layered juxtapositions from one panel to the next. Da best?
@Tanner_Slavin my spidey got a one sided crush on his mj, then she got a crush back, then they moved in together but wouldn’t confess, and then she ragebaited him and he lost his crush which is where i’m currently at rn😭
@mymanbpostin One of those things where a criticism makes sense if you think of “the start” as the plot of him going up against Lex which does take a while; but the story of him finding a place he feels he belongs in starts right when they tell you his home’s about to die. ‘Peak’ as they say
@cattybatty202 harder to find back issues then, so often you’d get annuals that were just reprints of whatever people asked for the most in the letter pages
@FitMarshmellow when i got into the discourse back then it was wild for me to learn about the consensus that there’s some sort of drop off after s4 even if that’s common for a lot of sitcoms. with each rewatch i appreciate something new in those later seasons even if they’re not as good as S4<
@theoceanblooms Devilish framing from variety here in that first sentence when if ppl just moved their eyes down 1mm they’d see she means new multi-cam laughtrack sitcoms and she prefers single cam ones like lmao isn’t that what everyone thinks nowadays anyway😭why is this news
@LegoKingo On rewatch I thought it was smart writing how his love of classic movies & filmmaking (like the recurring film school kids) are threaded throughout the show. Its often for gags but it felt like an implication he had an honest affinity for it that he could’ve made a career out of
@theoceanblooms i know i know “girl the lawsuit” etc but this flashed across my brain the other day and i haven’t been able to unsee its perfection since
