I guess Vegeta hasn't mastered Super Saiyan then?
Look, if you like the Toei version more, that's fantastic. I like it too!
But to suggest that there's an objectively correct way to transform into Super Saiyan is either idiotic or dishonest.
@Yuriruex I appreciate the apology. But this is the internet and I'm a public figure. I expect people lashing out from time to time. It comes with the territory.
I only responded the way I did because I respected the work of the animators I worked with too much not to stand up for them.
To be clear, the above tweet isn't to deminish what Toei chose to do. It's a really cool idea and I loved it.
I just don't see the need to try to rationalise a preference into something objective. There are plenty of things to love and fewer reasons to tear others down.
With less than an hour to go until DBS Beerus' version of the fight hits Japanese TV, I think it's important to look back at the original broadcast of Episode 5. It's harder to find these days with the Blu-ray corrected version dominating streaming sites, so here it is:
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus has ONE chance to fix Goku vs Beerus...
How can they make this fight work? They'll need more than great animation.

@spargeee I wanted to make videos that are were fun. Initially that meant long form ambitions. In some ways that's still true. The difference now is that I am enjoying writing simple videos while working on more complicated animation projects in the background.
It's a better balance.
@Omnoproxy to be fair, this one new take is probably the only significant deviation SSJ2 has ever made. It might be that this new style is still in its honeymoon phase for me but I kinda fuck with it more.
I live for drawings like this.
There isn’t anything unique about the angle, pose or composition. It’s remarkably “standard”.
And yet, this fucking artist was SO talented that none of that shit mattered and they delivered one of the best Super Saiyan 2 drawings I’ve ever seen!
@vondbz2 King Kai in ep 1 of DBS Beerus used the same lines from Joji Yanami. Could have been a good opportunity to get the new voice actor in this first season for synergy.
