@ThatARCGuy in all honesty the finals has been going through a rough phase since season 8, the community is pretty shaken up by embarks choices the same as arc raiders
but games come and go for many, the dedicated fans will forever play the games they enjoy, flaws and all
linux has had a "windows quality" desktop for over a decade now, and while cosmic looks good, its nowhere near as well established and supported as more long standing desktops
its more of a runt similar to xfce and cinnamon
Microsoft should be worried.
COSMIC 1.0.15 just dropped and the pace is insane.
In a single update:
• Steam Big Picture compatibility fixes
• Cursor fixes for video games
• Multiple fullscreen window support
• Better Alt+Tab behavior across displays
• VPN connection improvements
• Bluetooth reliability fixes
• Screenshot saving fixes
• Better file type detection
• Faster terminal startup
• 100,000 line terminal scrollback
• More keyboard shortcut support
And this is just a point release.
What stands out most is the focus on real desktop pain points:
• Gaming
• Multi-monitor setups
• Wayland polish
• Performance
• Daily usability
This doesn't feel like another Linux desktop anymore.
It feels like Linux finally getting its Windows-quality desktop moment.
Have you tried COSMIC yet?
