Minister of State for Tourism, @MTWAUganda, Hon. Susan Nsambu Nakawukyi, continued the third leg of her nationwide familiarisation tour with a visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where she experienced her first-ever mountain gorilla trek and encountered the renowned Binyindo Gorilla Family. The visit reaffirmed Uganda's global position as a premier gorilla tourism destination plus highlighted the critical role of conservation, sustainable tourism and community participation.
The Minister also engaged with surrounding communities and immersed herself in the rich cultural heritage of the Batwa people, underscoring government's commitment to preserving indigenous cultures, strengthening livelihoods and ensuring communities benefit from wildlife conservation. The tour continues to showcase Uganda's exceptional tourism attractions while promoting inclusive, sustainable tourism development through strong partnerships with conservation agencies, local communities and development partners.
