🎉 2 years of SKIE!
🚢Shipping cross-platform apps is hard enough. Interop shouldn’t be. From flows & suspend functions to automatic CInterop, #SKIE has powered apps at @powersync_ , @Mapbox , and more.

My code was accepted and is now part of release of 2.0.7 of Kermit. My change: add WASM support to kermit-koin. Glad to collaborate on a project maintained by @TouchlabHQ, one of the biggest contributors to the #KMP ecosystem.

Droidcon NYC 2025 = ✅
Thanks to everyone who attended our talks, chatted #KMP, and kept it real at the booth, and to @fawson_greg and the whole #dcnyc25 team for putting together another successful event.
Excited for what’s ahead in native mobile dev. Let’s keep building!
Kotlin/Native debugging in Xcode? It’s tricky👉but it doesn’t have to be.
Catch Touchlab’s @TadeasKriz at #dcnyc25 next Thurs @ 2:35pm for a deep dive into effective LLDB debugging + native binaries.
If you’ve touched #KMP on iOS, you shouldn’t miss this.

What's the killer feature of #KotlinMultiplatform according to Google's @yigitboyar?
"And the key here, you don't need to wait for someone else to write the network library, so you can make this cross-platform. You can just call the Apple foundation APIs from your Kotlin code."

🔄 Kotlin Multiplatform for iOS developers
At #mDevCamp2025, Filip Dolník, Senior Kotlin Developer at Touchlab, will show KMP from an iOS developer's perspective!
While KMP is often presented from an Android viewpoint, iOS developers have specific concerns. Filip, known as the co-author of SKIE (a compiler plugin generating Swift-friendly API for Kotlin Native), will focus on:
- Comparing Kotlin and Swift
- Choosing between Xcode and IntelliJ IDEA/Android Studio
- Debugging KMP code
- Contrasting Xcode's build tools with Gradle
- Best practices for calling Kotlin from Swift
Inspired by "Kotlin/Native for Android Developers," Filip flips the perspective and offers insights for iOS developers, while still providing valuable information for Android and KMP developers. The goal is to bridge platform gaps, fostering collaboration and quality in multiplatform apps.

We’ve learned a lot about scaling for mobile. @namnum will talk about why “second-platform thinking” (web→ mobile, iOS→ Android) should start early - even before your AI-coded MVP ships.
