Cognitive tasks could be biased towards generalists: a lesson from wild non-eusocial #bees. In this work, led by @TovahKashetsky, specialist bees were more hesitant to continue interacting with novel stimuli. Check out the full #OA paper in @BehavEcol: https://t.co/6O2VLNysMz
🚨🐝 FUN SCIENCE ALERT! 🐝🚨Hibernating bumblebee queens can survive up to a WEEK underwater!! The discovery stems from an oversight leading to these tough little queens defying the odds, emerging alive after an accidental underwater stint! 🌊🐝 #FunScience#BumblebeeSuperheroes
#GradStudent scholarships and #Postdoc fellowships got a raise today for the first time in 21 years🙌
Immensely grateful to all those who have been pushing for this. It truly takes a village!
Still processing and will have more thoughts soon! But overall this👇 is great news!
My MSc ms is published 🐜🧠 We found that acorn ants get faster at decision-making with experience, but not more accurate. We used social network analysis to measure social connectedness and workload distribution, both of which remained stable over time.

We have these signs on the side of the boxes, and the box was completely disassembled. I’m just curious as to why? What did my bees every do to you?? 😢
A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, & most of the energy that does, moves the car, not people.
Sound efficient?
