I mean one could argue that Theo was literally hungry.

I don't think it's bad design, I think he WAS genuinely better-looking in the past since kids adored him. But after some issues, either Theo was refusing to eat of he was too violent to maintain.

I think it would have made more sense in PPT's story if it was the Prototype who transformed Theo into Catnap after the Hour of Joy.
Because, like, look at this fucked, he's the only Playtime experiment that isn't consistent with the toy, he seems 100% designed to be disgusting.
