Pretty much every nature organisation, 350 of them, tens of thousands of scientists, conservationists and growers march through London to tell the UK the manifestos are woefully inadequate to protect nature and us. Unprecedented. @BBCNews … nothing 👀
We asked you to show up for nature, and you did.
In your THOUSANDS.
What an amazing turn-out at the #RestoreNatureNow march. Politicians, are you listening?
A visit to the @morethanadodo collection, & a quick peak at the fleas
Two big names here - Charles Nathaniel Rothschild who described over 500 spp & Charles Darwin who collected this whilst on ‘The Voyage of the Beagle’
What stories these fleas could tell
Desperately sad news.
Museums are treasure houses of objects and knowledge, founts of inspiration for future generations, places of wonder - and research. Places that invite us to see ourselves in a deep, wide context.
Our society and culture is impoverished if we lose them.
Having spent many hours behind the scenes in this one, poring over skeletal collections at National Museum Wales, working with archaeologists there, my heart is riven by this sad news.

As always, many people asking us about #bumblebees at the moment - WHY THEY’RE SEEING THEM ON THE GROUND - so here’s a thread to explain what they’re up to.
Please #retweet.
Every #queen that survives means a new colony that gets to exist & produce new queen #bees for next year!

@BruceLangridge1@walesbotanic Wow what a fantastic cake! Sorry to hear that you’re leaving Bruce, wishing all the best for your future plans. Hope we can stay in touch 🙂
Our new paper is out today in @Nature , showing that bumblebees possess the cognitive capacity for some of the key ingredients of cumulative culture, previously though to be unique to humans
