Contains alkaloids such as californidine, allocryptopine, and berberine. Has been used historically by humans for its sedative, anxiolytic, and analgesic properties. Also a nice small perennial wildflower.

Fentanyl is a drug of concern and when used in unknown dosages and/or in unknown drug combinations (aka illicitly manufactured fentanyl), it has caused a rapidly increasing amount of overdoses and deaths over the last several years, but it isn’t the bogeyman.

It is used safely as a medication every day in hospital/medical settings. Secondary or passive exposure is not a real thing that will cause overdose/death. Let’s be logical when we speak about drugs.
