‘Walking 🚶♂️ just 11 minutes a day could stop 10% of early deaths, researchers find’, so let’s make our streets places we’d actually want to walk
..green, verdant, healthy. Let’s plant trees 🌳🌳where they are desperately needed..
ALL streets deserve trees @TreesforStreets
🖼️Love Corita’s artwork ⬇️ and admire these rules ⬇️ Rule8 is also a favourite although, creative and critical thinking are often seen as opposites, in my life + innovative work they are complementary skills that work together to help solve problems, make decision+create new ideas
What are the "rules" (official or unofficial) of your department or organisation? Sister Corita Kent (1918-1986) was a nun, activist & pop artist. The rules she created when she was Head of the Immaculate Heart Art Department are some of the best ever. She was so ahead of her time. My favourites are:
Rule 4) Consider everything an experiment
Rule 8) Don't try to create & analyze at the same time. They're different processes.

This is a very small (and powerful) extract from the acclaimed author @lokiscottishrap latest work.
Leaves an impact on lots of levels and much room for deep (if uncomfortable) reflection...
📚 Some Friday Reading 📚 This briefing does not take long to read start to finish and is clearly an impactful resource - especially to those working in place and transport who are:
🚏🏡👩🏻⚕️redesigning service and strategy across all sectors 🚌 🚊 👩🏼🏫
🆕 Did you know that access to reliable, affordable and safe transport plays a vital role in our health and wellbeing?
We’ve published a new briefing exploring transport poverty and how it can impact quality of life ⬇️

I’m also supporting someone to choose to put their trainers on to help them feel more confident stepping over the front door and to move beyond their immediate community 💕
🪞Upon reflection I acknowledge the things I have done and choices I have made to help me arrive to where I am today. Active Choices. I support you to make an Active Choice everyday instead of opting for the unsustainable the ‘New Year New Me’ pressures #ActiveEveryDay 💕
#ActiveEveryDay | This month many of us look to kick start our fitness routines. We are encouraging everyone to include sport and PA into their daily lives
To support this message, our theme partner is @PathsforAll
👀Look out for posts related to their work throughout January
I know someone who’s Active Choice is simply to pop on her trainers instead of other footwear so that when she is out and about, she can comfortably walk further before or after her daily/weekly outings.
Final meeting of the year for this incredible team.
So proud of their unique strengths and contributions to the Shaping Places for Wellbeing Programme 💪
People with passion 👏👏❤️
