🚨Traffic Alert - Onondaga County 🚨Interstate 81 southbound to 481 northbound in Cicero is currently closed due to a fuel truck rollover. The driver was not injured. Troopers and emergency crews are on scene. Please use alternate routes and expect delays.

🚨Traffic Advisory - Oswego County 🚨 I-81 southbound is closed at exit 121 (Tinker Tavern) due to multiple accidents due to whiteouts and low visibility. Please avoid the area.

State Police are assisting the Monroe County Sheriff's Office with investigating a crash on Interstate 490 westbound in the town of Chili involving an overturned tour bus. Interstate 490 westbound is closed at Union Street.

The New York State Police offers our deepest condolences to the Oswego County Sheriff's Office, and their friends and family of the Deputy who died in the line of duty this morning. The Oswego County community is in our prayers.

This morning, a monument unveiling ceremony was held at the new SP Hastings station in honor of State Trooper Amanda D. Anna. Trooper Anna served with bravery, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the safety of our community. Her sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Lewis County: State Police continue to assess the flooding damage in the town of Watson. The flooding has subsided but Buck Point Road near Beaver Lake is not passable.

A combination of high temperatures in the 90s and high humidity will lead to heat index values or “feel-like” temperatures in the upper 90’s to mid-100’s for consecutive days. New Yorker's should monitor local weather forecasts for the most up-to-date information.

Recruit Troopers from the 214th Session of the Basic School at New York State Police Academy in Cazenovia, New York, restored the deteriorated historical marker honoring the first New York State Police camp on Troop K Road in Manlius, New York. The site was known as “Camp Newayo”

The New York State Police is sending our deepest condolences to the Connecticut State Police following the tragic line-of-duty death of Connecticut State Trooper Aaron Pelletier who was killed in a hit-and-run on Interstate 84 on May 30th .

On May 15, 2024, 228 new Troopers were honored for their perseverance in completing the 214th session of the Basic School of the NYSP Academy. The 214th session is the first class to graduate out of the Cazenovia Academy. Congratulations and best of luck in your new assignments!
