March 8th marks International Women’s Day (IWD), this year IWD seeks to #InspireInclusion. WTS TrYOU understands, values, and seeks out the inclusions of women in the transportation industry. Our program inspires to educate and empower young women through our mentorship program.

TrYOU had the opportunity to hear from Aleta Evans, COO of Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and the WTS Philadelphia 2023 Woman of the Year, at an outreach event with the Free Library of Philadelphia in Roxborough!

STEM and the Transportation industry.

Earlier this month TrYou hosted a college panel where students were able to hear experiences from women actively seeking a college degree in a transportation industry.

WTS TrYou attended the GETT Expo at the Philadelphia Expo Center to encourage girls in STEM. It’s not too late to be a part of TrYou we are still accepting applications for our November Event.

Throw back Tuesday! A highlight of our November college panel and resume workshop event for TrYOU. We are excited for the new program year and wish everyone a happy last month of summer . Can’t wait to see everyone again in the fall!

Last Month Gina Venuto and her mentee Mia represented TrYOU Philly at the 2023 WTS Capital Summit. While there they had the opportunity to visit USDOT, Amtrak, US Capitol, BWI airport, FHWA, Port of Baltimore, where they met mentors and mentees from all over the country.

WTS Philadelphia TRYOU had its final event of the school year. Students were given a presentation on team building and participated in a LEGO challenge. Notable Woman in Transportation Esther McGinnis spoke to students about the transportation industry and her journey.
