Cheers to 95!

To celebrate, hard-working Hall of Famer Loren Tate will do his almost-daily @wdws1400 radio show at 5 pm and work on his weekly Tatelines column. #Illini

Finally – always fun to spend time with the great Loren Tate. Today was the 60th anniversary of his first @news_gazette story & he’s still out there taking notes (noticed him jotting down a depth chart), writing columns & hosting radio shows. He’ll be 95 in Nov. Man is amazing.

Free agent guard Ayo Dosunmu intends to sign a five-year, $112 million contract to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, with a player option in the fifth season, sources tell ESPN. Timberwolves made it a major priority to lock in Dosunmu after his tremendous postseason.

“We’ve learned, with [TJ Shannon], he’s gotta have the ball in his hands.

Silly me, we played him out of the corner most of the season, but he’s way better with the ball in his hands at the top of the floor”

.@brittrobson talked with Micah Nori and Ayo Dosunmu out in Boston for this piece. Some great quotes from both — on Ayo’s game, how he’s wired and why he’s fitting in so well in Minnesota.

And this was a banger line from Britt: “It is more accurate to call him a tone-re-setter, a tone repairman. For a Wolves team that frequently forgets how much it can thrive with a faster pace that yields a more instinctual deliberation sans self-consciousness, his performance is an unceasing reminder, a handy template for corrective reference.”
