So proud of our @BritishDams professionals who are working 24/7 alongside the emergency services to save this dam and keep the residents and their properties safe. We can be assured the best minds are working together to make this happen https://t.co/P8pCnwJgy5
@J_Paszkiewicz Hi Julian, apologies for not responding. I’m in Australia. It may be too late now, but if you need someone to talk to from the BDS in UK at short notice, one of our Committee members and an experienced Panel Engineer, Rachel Pether, can assist. Her email is [email protected]
An amazing night here in Ottawa for Malcolm Dunstan who receives an honorary membership of ICOLD for his services to ICOLD and the dams industry. Congratulations Malcolm.
Oroville Dam: Report on Insights into 2017 Spillway Incident with reference to hydrology and operational issues - flood management id' as means to mitigate similar events. ICOLD 2019 @icoldcigb2019 (June 9-14) important forum for discussion https://t.co/X7Sfthqd3O @Tracey_Dams
Said goodbye to an old friend today - Grywne Fawr dam in the Brecon Beacons NP in Wales. I’ve supervised this beautiful dam for 8 years and this was my last inspection before heading to Australia next month. A lovely sunny but slightly sad day.
Great opportunity for a senior leader in Dams and Reservoirs to join our team in Cardiff or Bristol to provide technical support and direction on numerous D&R projects https://t.co/luD6bubuHZ
@ICEWalesCymru@wabbey I was there too but also didn’t see you Keith. Apparently there were 2000 of us in the Abbey. It was a special and proud day for us engineers.
@ICE_engineers President Andrew Wyllie speaking after the National Service to celebrate the Year of Engineering at Westminster Abbey today. A wonderfully uplifting day for engineers of all disciplines.
Proud to be representing the BDS @BritishDams at this event tomorrow: National service to celebrate the Year of Engineering, London https://t.co/xFhrkZhlwS
@BritishDams @Stantec View from the Chair’s chair! Good turn out, lots of good feedback and a prize goes to Billy and Ian for the most photos included in a presentation ever! I thoroughly enjoyed it thanks both.
Safety of #tailing dams is not well established. #Mining industry people should come more often to ICOLD meetings! We never saw engineers from BHP Billiton in our Congresses or Symposiums. They thought they could manage by themselves and it ended in an environmental disaster :-(
Excellent technical tour of Derwent Reservoir today thanks to @NorthumbrianH2O - Fantastic piece of #engineering. Even got to talk to the design engineer, now in his 90s. Photo of him showing HRH Princess Alexandra round during the opening in 1967. #thisisengineering
