@JagTaggart93 It kicked off a big movement in the industry to make everything open world. I don't know if I'd put it up with SMB or Doom personally, but it's the closest thing I can think of off the top of my head. It's harder for one game to be as influential now that the industry is so big.
@JagTaggart93 I think the more common approach now is to refine the formulas that have already existed or to combine them in interesting ways. I have a hard time thinking of completely new and original ideas in gaming at this point.
@JagTaggart93 My first thought is Breath of the Wild being pretty big for open world games. Unfortunately I think most of the innovation recently is with microtransactions like Fortnite, or bringing back old genres to the modern audience like BG3. We've kind of plateaued with the tech now.
@CrystalKokkoro Yeah that's fair, I just have a lot of trouble socializing when I don't really know anybody. If I had a friend that was actually into fighting games then I think I'd have a blast, but it feels weird to drive so far by myself.
First Twi-Lumina major I don't want to miss though.
Refined battle mechanics! New characters join the fray!
A new entry in the MELTY BLOOD series, MELTY BLOOD: TWI-LUMINA, is set to release in early 2027.
A tale of conflict stirs once again within a dream.

@JagTaggart93 I've been there a lot. Usually I'm just stressed outside of the game and I just don't have a good headspace before the match even starts. Taking a break for a few months usually works but I always have to fight the urge to run a set or join a net play bracket.
@JagTaggart93 Unfortunately it's only changed through ranked matches, and even though I was grinding ranked for a while it hasn't gone back to normal.
The biggest issue is that the connection is bad so people DC a lot more often, but the only matches you can even find will be bad connection.
@RichEllefritz@InternetH0F I'm so confused why you're being confrontational about this lol.
Is your experience with the word different from mine? Honestly I'd be interested to discuss it, but if you feel like this is getting argumentative or something then feel free to move on. I'm just curious.
