Two adults and a child from a school bus carrying Maryland School for the Blind students were hospitalized after the bus crashed into a Parkville building in Maryland.

India's first high-speed electrification system for 320 kmph operations is being installed on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) confirms the 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor will use an advanced 2x25 kV Overhead Traction System. This is a first for India, designed for uninterrupted power supply required for trains operating at speeds up to 320 kmph.

Power from the National Power Grid will be supplied via 14 traction substations and 31 switching posts along the route, ensuring seamless transitions. A network of over 22,000 steel masts will support an advanced compound catenary system, engineered for smooth, spark-free electricity collection by the trains.

Enhancing safety, 28 earthquake sensors – 22 along the corridor and 6 additional inland seismometers – will detect seismic activity and initiate protective measures to stop trains immediately.
