@dublinbypub There was a fashion in Cork in the 80s/90s for calling pubs the “Something” Arms. The Cork Arms, the Muskerry Arms, the Motor Arms are three that come to mind.
@IrishRail Big thanks to the staff at Mallow and Cork Kent stations who reunited me with a backpack that I left on the 1400 Heuston-Cork train on Friday 2 February. They kindly made sure it was found and put on the next train to Mallow, and I had it back before 6 pm.
Deeply disappointed & annoyed at the proposal to change the name of Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Pádraig Uí Chaoimh was a key figure in the formation of the GAA at club and national level.
Govt allocated €30m towards the development of the stadium and never sought naming rights.
@irishexaminer “Less than 2 hours” would be a groundbreaking world record, like the first sub-4 minute mile was. Husen’s 2.06, while fast beyond the wildest dreams of most runners, is not less than 2 hours, unless something weird’s going on in the space-time continuum in the Examiner office.

@joancooke5@mooreimel 1995 so not exactly a new rule. It was possible to give notice by post until the late 2000s when a requirement to give notice in person to the Civil Registration Service came in.
Did you know that you can track all public buses in Dublin? This map shows you the location of every bus, where it's going and even if it has USB ports!
