I gotta make a change. I collapsed this morning during breakfast. I don't know what happened. Everything just so suddenly went dark.
I'm exhausted, cold, chronically sleep deficient. I dedicated a 100% of my spare time & more to saving pups.
My plea: Pls help me show their faces.
🐾Super cute Baby Beluga trial adopted just days & returned b/c nipped a hand, left a small mark when adopter gave him a bone partially in plastic then took the bone away from him. Now he is downgraded to rescue only. Wiggly, cute, friendly, cooperative, earned 2nd best behavior rating, neutral w/ dogs, neutered & healthy. Needs a foster offer by 6/16: https://t.co/9wYNVJPUWA
Doctor friend from a hospital ER in Beirut describing some of the scenese: a toddler with a missing leg fainted from crying, mothers from all religions are wailing in corridors, an older woman with a crushed femur, not enough doctors to treat dying patients.
It’s a bloodbath.
@Mr_Husky1 The distance between us grew. I found myself. Not as a mom or a wife, me, as a total person. I dyed my hair, got a tattoo. He told me he didn't like it. It was by my hip, no one could see it unless I showed them. I told him it wasn't his body. Things went downhill from there
Aspen has a little favour to ask.
For 10 years we’ve been rescuing and caring for animals who had no one. But even after a decade of saving lives, we still have not reached 30K supporters. If you love animals, please give us a follow for Aspen 🐾💖🙏🏼
I was speaking with a friend who works as a cook in a kitchen run by World Central Kitchen. His voice sounded exhausted, as if he was carrying news he didn’t want to say out loud.
He told me the kitchen may completely stop cooking and distributing food to displaced people in Gaza within the next two days. The reason is shocking: the trucks that bring cooking supplies and fuel are being prevented from entering. Without them, they cannot light a single fire or prepare a single meal.
What makes this harder to understand is that people expected that after the war stopped, more trucks and aid would be allowed in. But what is happening seems to be the opposite. Instead of increasing the number of trucks, they are being stopped from entering in the first place. What is happening here?
This may sound like a small detail to someone far away, but here it means everything. Hundreds of thousands of people rely on these meals every single day. Many families have no food in their tents at all and wait for these meals the way a drowning person waits for air.
It is Ramadan, and people are already struggling to find something to break their fast with. If this kitchen stops, it will not simply be the suspension of a humanitarian service people will immediately feel hunger returning to the camps.
If the trucks are not allowed in soon, this will not be a distant possibility. It will become a real catastrophe within days. Here, when food stops, it simply means that thousands of families will go to sleep hungry again.
@Bdin813358@ThatEricAlper I turned down a job because I'd have to pay $15 a week for parking. That's $60 a month
I was making $9 an hour. I couldn't afford that. 1992.
A young child being held at the Dilley camp had appendicitis.
He was ignored for 3 days. Told to “just take Tylenol”.
These children are being denied clean water, decent food and medical care.
They’re sick.
They’re scared.
They’re screaming “let us out”.
We must listen.
Israeli bombs killed a teacher today in southern Lebanon.
Not a fighter. Not a threat.
A teacher.
And the world stays silent.
No condemnation. No consequences.
BREAKING:
Israel just dropped bombs on civilian areas in South Lebanon, killing and wounding innocent people despite a “ceasefire”.
And the “international community”?
Silent.
From Palestine to Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran and beyond, Israel exports only one thing: terror.
