It is important to actively teach children that skin color *should* not matter; that we *should* not judge a person by their skin color; that skin color *should* be as irrelevant as the colors of our clothes. 1/9
Most stories of Black history are rooted in the violence inflicted upon us. We were conscious of the stories we chose to elevate for our month-long series, centering those that aren't rooted in the violence inflicted upon us.
I am attending a great series of workshops this week on diversity, equity, and inclusion. It is important work to benefit student learning, and I am looking forward to sharing my learning with others. Thank you @kproctor1517 and @SWBOCES!
