This remarkable black-and-white photograph from 1968 captures one of the most extraordinary and well-documented Marian apparitions in modern history
For nearly three years, starting on April 2, 1968, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared publicly over the dome of St. Markβs Coptic Orthodox Church in Zeitoun, Cairo, Egypt.
The luminous figure of Our Lady, often seen standing, bowing, blessing the crowds, or holding the Child Jesus, shone brightly against the night sky, drawing hundreds of thousands of witnesses from all faiths, including Muslims, Christians, and government officials.
What makes this event so profound is its public nature and unifying power: People gathered in peace, many reporting miraculous healings and a deep sense of Godβs presence.
The Coptic Orthodox Church, under Pope Kyrillos VI, officially recognized the apparitions shortly after they began following a thorough investigation. Even secular authorities could find no natural explanation.
This image stands as a powerful reminder of Maryβs maternal love reaching across divides and bringing light into darkness. βMy soul magnifies the Lord!β (Luke 1:46) May it deepen our devotion to the Mother of God, who intercedes for us all.
Our Lady of Light, pray for us mπ»π¦
βMade in China is poor qualityβ
Most homes in the U.S. are made of sticks and plywood, but most Americans still canβt afford one. Pretty sure China beats that.
Ortho bro accounts post Catholic scandals not Orthodox scandals (even though they have plenty) because they want to drive people from Catholicism to Orthodoxy.
So explain to me why so many Catholic accounts only post Catholic scandals?
The newly released UFO videos do not lower people health insurance premiums, does not stop Social Security and Medicare from going bankrupt in 2032, does not lower inflation or gas, does not help people afford to buy a home, or does not end the Iran war that Americans did not sign up for.
Nobody cares.
The protestant reformation wasnt a grassroots, peasant led revolt against the Catholic aristocracy. It was the aristocracy forcing protestantism on the peasants. Many faithful Catholics were slaughtered during this time.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Americans on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This anniversary stands as an invitation not only to celebrate the nationβs remarkable journey, but also to reflect upon the responsibilities that the sons and daughters of this country bear to one another, and to the generations who will inherit the nation that is being shaped today. https://t.co/jIio4BBg9v
