Liq’d for more than I’d like to admit last night then clicked a stupid link in my X notifications today and got drained for a 5 figures .. my own fault for being a moron.. we live and learn..
@X Can you please explain why I’m getting notification for wallet draining links… when i do not follow this or any related accounts this is utterly horrendous .. i have zero interactions or mutuals with this account..
@GeormanZ He’s simply constructively highlighting disparity… maybe you’ll see the BP team respond to this in a positive light.. but either way it’s hardly FUD calling out the literal exact situation of token to equity conversion rates….
What was the economic incentive to solve any of the OpenAI problems?
Meanwhile ECDLP has had over 3k researchers with 800+ published papers, and it never stopped. There are yearly conferences held to discuss failed attempts at breaking ECDLP, so people can learn from each other and try to break it better.
The NSA is the world's greatest hirer of mathematicians. They got caught trying to backdoor Discrete Logarithm systems three times. The last being caught in 2015.
After each one, waves of the most competent cryptographers scoured for new attacks. Most things that improve attacks by like 10% are really the same things that make implementations of EC operations faster.
Theres armies of people, on the latest frontier models, making their cryptography blazingly fast, like us @ZakuraZcash. You see open research projects constantly improve the state of the art.
No human or AI has had any elliptic curve speedup approaching even a 2x, yet folks are freaking out that cryptography is broken?
The OpenAI problems being broken is not remotely the same as ECDLP having a real improving attack.
Even if there was an attack, its insane to imagine it becomes "Break ECDLP on your laptop". It would go from "impossible" to "possible with all the world's GPU's dedicated for a decade", to "possible with 1 year".
Any of those is a real warning shot to go trigger the ECC freeze.
Do the labs have better algorithms for breaking crypto?
Independent of the answer, the most important thing is to have crypto agility. Zcash has proven this, with 3 upgrades happening in 6 months, and Tachyon planned for January. The protocol design has plans for how to turn off features to enable safe protocol upgrades. This is what Quantum Recoverability is, and it applies equally well if there's a non-quantum ECDLP attack.
We're equipped on multiple fronts to protect against future bugs. In the next cryptography upgrade, coming January, already slated features are:
- PQ transparent
- Switching to Tachyon
What people don't realize about Tachyon is it switches us to R1CS, and enables far more crypto agility away from elliptic curves. The nullifier derivation no longer depend on elliptic curves. We get far greater SNARK agility and can very quickly move to STARKs when any crisis comes.
Today's Zcash transparent UTXO's give a better security guarantee than an ETH address. @ZakuraZcash has solved the privacy and performance problem that were blocking rotating T-Addresses natively in the wallet. This is done using PIR to fetch balances, and its already live in Vizor. So its a short UX leap to get this backup plan.
In January, the Transparent pool will be upgraded to support hash based sigs, that can later be STARK aggregated.
What I was saying is this literally can’t be real because I’m in Paris staying about 5 minutes away from where this is filmed and have been here all week. Again if you read the messages below my original post I did state this as soon as it became apparent to me it’s not AI but from the champs league final in 2025.
@Nick_Vinson @proamericapol Maybe try read the messages on my post then ask grok what that video is from or just google psg Paris riot… its from ages ago when PSG won the champions league final…
Get back in your box you fucking same head..
@proamericapol I’m not saying there aren’t riots, clearly there are. what I’m saying is that specific video is clearly fake and there nothing happening in the area depicted never mind to the extent this shows.
