I'm a practicing trader, and I'm tired of advice from people who never walked this path themselves.
Over 6 years in trading I've gone through several stages: from complete confusion to trading prop accounts and running my own investment portfolio.
@rahmath369 Exactly. The strategy is just the first boss, teaching you the basics of the game. The real challenges come after that: self-control, self-analysis, and developing the right mindset.
@Wordsofrizdom Here’s what I’ve learned about timeframes: they’re all interconnected, like parts of one organism. Each timeframe tells a different part of the same story. The lower timeframe makes more sense when you understand the bigger picture.
Interesting topic. I prefer following a defined set of rules over intuition. One approach relies on pattern recognition and experience to make decisions in real time, while the other relies on a tested system with clear entry and exit criteria. I prefer the latter because it's easier to measure, review, and improve.
@JoshOtele_tele@TradersConf A few examples: long-term investments, building a business, or monetizing social media through sponsorships, paid communities, or affiliate marketing. The goal is to build income streams that don't depend entirely on your trading performance.
@mindsetmachine Skills aren't immune to change either. Markets evolve, industries shift, and what was valuable yesterday might not be tomorrow. That's why continuous learning matters.
@wannabechamp I remember spending 10 hours a day staring at charts when I first started trading, afraid of missing an opportunity. Looking back, I realize you only need to wait for your setup, and that doesn't require spending all day in front of the screen.
@joker_szn I look at it from a statistical perspective. A stop-loss is just one outcome in a larger sample, and the next trade is another opportunity for my edge to play out.
