So I’ve got a theory about the Sunbringers in ZZZ I really want to share, this will probably be disproven fairly quickly but thought I’d share it before that. Theory is mine in a discord server, rest can be seen on the thread. #ZenlessZoneZero
Fever Dream Episode 1/2
Over the weekend I got really sick, and while enduring a bad fever, I had a wild dream that has stuck with me. I made the mistake of watching Jurassic World 4 before it hit me, cause the dream was about going to a dinosaur research island and retrieve expensive drugs for money.
I won't bore you with all the details, but it was a very YOU'RE THERE kind of dream. Where you kind of take it as reality, despite the obvious unreal things already present in it. I just thought it was a cool break from the usual and I could make some real bank doing it. All I had to do was drive everybody where they needed to go and get a cut. On a distant tropical island adventure, too.
Sure. I'm up for that.
It goes pretty well. Manage to avoid most of the critters and just watch the biggest one's from afar. I even got to cuddle a compy, which felt warm and smooth in my arms. This one adventurer chick thought it was cute and commented how sweet I was with it. Nobody else wanted to risk being bit or cut by it. But I wasn't worried. I've handled snakes and lizards all my life. Even though it was more like a featherless chicken.
We were doing that by the big bus/mobile home rig I was driving. Parked outside the facility we came for. And part of the team came out running from it, yelling at me to start it up and drive back to the dock, with a big case in hand. Then this striped, spiny dinosaur thing jumped out after them and pounced a guy. The adventurer woman I was talking with went to help him, while I went to do my job. Everyone who was there got aboard when more showed up. I left it parked facing towards out exit road to punch out if we needed to, so it was easy to get away. Even rubbed one of the creatures off the rig by swiping a tree. Felt like a badass doing it, I admit. As corny as it may read.
I make a fair distance before people are screaming in the back. I'm thinking one got inside from behind in my blindspot. But, nope: The guys who ran out of the building are straight up changing into those creatures and I run it into a deep ditch and lean the entire rig against the trees cause I rubbernecked far too long.
I and the woman get out and run for the docks, the package in my hands. And we run for it. Docks are almost in sight and I realize she isn't behind me anymore. I go back to check and I see her just changing into one of the creatures.
This is why I even bothered to take the time to try to catch what I saw and why: I'm not sure how to really explain it, but I watched someone I had been talking with just lose themselves in front of me. Watch the humanity be overtaken and replaced by something else. Saw it happen in her eyes as she went from fear to this wild hunger for me.
It honestly scared the shit out of me. It felt like watching a kind of death right before me. Who she was, was gone. Replaced by this intelligent animal that was going to kill me too, one way or another. I ran my ass off. I just wanted to make some serious money and eat financially inconsequential amounts of steak back at home. Simple dreams by extreme means.
I felt like that guy in that opening scene for 28 Weeks Later. Just running for a boat at the end of it all and hoping I could manage it before it was too late...
And I woke up, lol. My heart was going so fast it brought me out of it and I immediately felt compelled to use the can. Tore myself from bed with minimal energy and pondered on the whole dream and the feelings it left me with.
I tried to capture what I saw here. Its the closest I'm willing to strive for, regardless. And I'm posting it up here for you all, too. I have a fully changed version in the second post so you can get an idea of what I saw.
"Don't watch Jurassic Park/World movies before getting sick with a fever". I guess that's my blue lettered, Clone Wars episode quote here.
