The teacher was not βin the wrong.β Like many other teachers I know, he clearly built a positive rapport with his students that opened the door for this to happen. HOWEVER, as an educator, I never allowed my students (especially the girls) to touch me.
So to make it plain, is the teacher wrong and should be fired? No. Do teachers need to tighten up and establish healthy physical boundaries for students, yes. At the end of the day, this video does not align with what I believe to be healthy relationship building in a classroom.
