Our sports area was in full swing at lunchtime play today. The children were learning to play netball and enjoying the sport which encourages them to work as a team.
Year 1 had three special visitors this week. We have been learning about reptiles in our science topic this term and Mr Mancini very kindly brought his snake, Sydney and two sleepy tortoises to school.
We had the opportunity to ask lots of questions and even hold them!
Trafalgar took two teams to a Badminton Festival event at Millais School. Teams rotated around a carousel of activities practising key fundamental movement skills ending with some fun competitive challenges. The children and staff had so much fun and really enjoyed the event. πΈ
Year 1 enjoyed their visit from Horsham Museum this week and being palaeontologists. Thank you to parents and carers for your voluntary donations towards the cost of this valuable experience. The children loved it! π¦π¦π¦΄
Our New Library Rug! Thank you to the FTS for purchasing us a new rug for our library area. Thank you to all parents, carers, family, friends, school staff and the community for their donations towards all the events run by the FTS. It really makes a difference to our school.
We were really pleased to host a joint meeting with Greenway Junior School last week for potential new starters in Reception 2023. The meeting discussed how we work closely together and how we ensure that children move from Trafalgar to Greenway with ease.
The Santa's Workshop role play has been in full swing today in our year 1 class, the children have been writing their letters to Santa, counting the letters in 2's and now the postbox is full! The children have also been producing lovely cards and calendars.
Our Reception children were excited to have a visit from West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service. Four serving fire fighters gave each class a session where they were walked around the vehicle and taught about all the equipment and role of the Fire Service.

The Reception children had a wonderful time outside this week during their βWoodland
Timeβ. They made vegetable soups and pies in
the mud kitchen. Went on a bug hunt, used our sounds to write the names of bugs they found and made
impressions of leaves and sticks in salt dough.
The children had a great time this week, practicing football skills with experienced football coach Steve Martin. They were showing their skills with ball control as well as stopping the ball and keeping it close to their feet. β½οΈ
Thank you so much to all our parents, carers and staff for making our Jubilee celebration day at Trafalgar amazing. The children had a wonderful day learning about The Queen, Royal themed activities, a lovely Jubilee picnic and much more. Here are photos of our special day. π¬π§π
The children and staff had a wonderful 'Let's Get Creative Day' at school this week. The children travelled to different countries around the school and created some amazing art work.
On Monday, Lime class children enjoyed planting up a yellow and blue themed flower bed.
They talked about how the flowers represented our solidarity and respect for the people of Ukraine at this time.ππ
