"Our colleagues have been dragged through hell and back... for doing nothing more or less than the job the public expect us to do. It was a political witch hunt" Metropolitan Police Federation Statement following Police Appeals Tribunal Ruling today https://t.co/S5Nl2YCpWX
@picard9991@westmidspolfed Run laps ? What is it you’ve done in your career to “try “ and improve ( or not in your “well evidenced” view) things for all cops ? Yes it’s not perfect yet but it is better. Way better . As an advanced driver I’m happy with the new test. I understand it .
@picard9991@westmidspolfed Two years in you’re the only one saying it , numerous cases not charged that would have been prior to the change ,notable cases where officers supported using tactics previously would have been an easy charge and now not . Long term practitioners in the know are reassured 👍🏼
@picard9991@westmidspolfed Changing from an ability to prosecute EVERY single blue light run pursuit basically everything within driver training to a tolerance of those tactics performed correctly is a step in the right direction. Yes I did all the work so did the research and know the stats support this .
@picard9991@westmidspolfed If a member of the public drives above speed limit goes through red lights .. prosecuted , if they use tac con motorcycles prosecuted. Trained officers now aren’t. Mmm much worse. Happy to come and talk if this effects you or if you have a team that is 👍🏼
@picard9991@westmidspolfed Like I said , perhaps read what’s changed attempt to understand the change then use that knowledge before making comment. Lawyers iopc npcc members politicians all see the new test as positive. Case that would have been prosecuted aren’t and most understand this .
@picard9991@westmidspolfed I encourage you to check out the statutory instrument and primary legislation. These make officers safer and have shut off the reserved right to prosecute all blue light activity .
Police officers being given 4.75 per cent pay rise on the same day as junior doctors are rewarded 22 per cent is ‘nothing short of humiliating’ says the chair of West Midlands Police Federation.

Inappropriate and lax application has contributed to some perverse outcomes. “Rogue” officers can and are dealt with when leaders and investigators apply the existing robust yet independent regulations correctly, it is this flaw that requires change. That’s the issue ,
So much wrong with these proposed ‘reforms’
The conduct system is not broken! It works. ‘Rogue’ officers have always been dismissed by the system. The problem lies with Prof Standards Depts & IOPC. To put chiefs in charge completely removes independence
