LGBT+ History Month.
Throughout February we'll be sharing moments of Manchester's involvement in shaping history, but first we want to recognise the organisations who support our staff, students & community @TraffordPride@TraffordCouncil@gmpolice@ManchesterPride@LGBTfdn ππ
@CarlAustinBehan@10DowningStreet you indicated that a report would be released of the work you/the board has done and progress made in your first year to better the lives of LGBT people and improve services, not just visit organisations and speak at events. That report was due in Dec, then promised in Feb π§π€―π
@CarlAustinBehan@10DowningStreet Dear Mr LGBTπ³οΈβπ Advisor, When the Mayor was elected, he vowed at the LGBT Hustings to appoint an LGBT Advocate. That took almost 12 months and was around the same time after the GM LGBT Action Plan was launched. It was then relaunched and a board set up... π€
@reviewernumber9@WatersideArts @rachelfurst1 Sadly itβs not us this year but the council-led @PrideTrafford. Great to see that we created a legacy from our inaugural one and hereβs hoping that they get many more attending from their homes than last year. Good luck to @mrdarrenadams and the team. #HappyPrideπ³οΈβππ

A member of our team spoke to Ms #Widdecombe when/after she was on Strictly, however did not discuss anything LGBT-related. Whether she meant that science could explain how people are #LGBT, we support @AltrinchamG's decision to cancel her show. #WeStandTogether https://t.co/cLWV67nF9z
Despite being tagged in posts for @PrideTrafford which has taken place since Wednesday, we are not involved.
Sadly, apart from the few (mainly political) stalls, today doesn't look to have been well attended (or promoted) but at least there has been a presence. Watch this space.

It ranges from Β£5-25 but nice to see the council hosting this for and in celebration of #LGBTQ people in #Trafford, after their pledge to support the community following the success of the first #TraffordPride π³οΈβπ as part of the 40th @AltyFestival. Free Community Hub on Sat 18 May
We are just updating our social media to add our new logo for 2019.
The Altrincham and District Festival committee would like to thank everyone for the continued support.
Please get your stalls booked in and also take part in this years parade.
Not all stripes are straight. π
Our commitment to inclusivity will take another step forward when we swap our traditional red and white for a one-off kit based on the LGBT Pride Flag.

Rob was at our 1st Trafford Pride: Are they still important?
They've always been really important to me. Homophobia & transphobia is still rife even here in the UK. Until stigma & harassment ends they'll be more than just a party. If that day ever comes, we deserve to celebrate!
