Something about Christine’s punishment in Drag Me to Hell has never really sat right with me.
She didn’t turn that woman down because she was heartless. She was just doing her job. She couldn’t approve a mortgage she wasn’t supposed to approve and risk losing her own job just because she felt bad for someone. What was she supposed to do?
I get why the old woman was angry, but cursing Christine over that felt extreme. And the worst part is that Christine spends the whole movie suffering over something that wasn’t even really wrong.
Maybe I’m looking at it differently, but I never felt like Christine deserved any of that. She made a decision at work. That’s it.
