and our science more impactful. From understanding immune responses to shaping future therapies, immunologists play a key role in advancing global health. We’re glad to be part of this community and to share this moment together.
Today we celebrate the International Day of Immunology🧬
As #CHIRONProject, we are especially happy to mark this day together — in person — during our annual meeting. Bringing together different perspectives, expertise, and experiences makes our collaboration stronger+
After two months at Anyo Labs, Ádám Gyöngyössy and Áron S. Németh from BME concluded their secondments with a final presentation, sharing outcomes with the team.
Secondments like these go beyond research—creating space for learning, collaboration, and new perspectives.
🎁A warm welcome within the #CHIRONProject network
Our early-stage researcher Taliha İnan Uluçay has started her secondment from Dokuz Eylul University to the University of Bern, where she was welcomed with a thoughtful gesture.
Wishing her a productive and rewarding experience!
The #CHIRONProject coordinator, Dr. Gerhard Wingender, delivered a presentation titled “Building Capacity for Transferable Skills Training for Early-Career Researchers” at the #FEBS Education and Training Conference.
As part of the Teaching & Training Presentation Series in cooperation with @ibgmerkezi and @RareDiseasesIBG, Dr. Eva Szegezdi will deliver an online presentation titled “Ethics in Health Research – Human Studies".
responsible research, including scientific validity, fair subject selection, risk–benefit balance, independent review, informed consent, and respect for participants. The session will also address how these principles inform study design and ethical approval processes.
The presentation “Building Research Careers: Essential Skills for Success” by Prof. Dr. Gül Güner Akdoğan is now available on our YouTube channel.

The #CHIRONProject partner Dr. Aristotelis Chatziioannou from e-NIOS led a hands-on workshop during the 4th International PACRI Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa (22–26 March 2026), with contributions from Dr. Eleftherios Pilalis and Christina Andrinopoulou.
The workshop introduced the BioInfoMiner engine, demonstrating how Explainable AI in omics can be advanced by combining AI-driven analytics with the interpretability and scientific grounding of knowledge graphs.
✨Stamatia Liakopoulou from Anyo Labs is at INSERM-Dijon and enjoying a Fika, Dijon-style. Alongside the scientific exchange and research activities, these moments offer a great opportunity to strengthen collaboration and share experiences within the #CHIRONProject.
The #CHIRONProject members, including PhD students and professors, held an online meeting to discuss the latest results and future plans in the areas of in silico modeling, chemical synthesis, and biological assays. Looking forward to the next steps and continued collaboration.
📢 New Insight from #CHIRONProject Partner e-NIOS
e-NIOS has just published a deep dive into one of the biggest hurdles in drug discovery: the “Black Box” problem of AI interpretation.
The article explores how BioInfoMiner advances Explainable AI in Omics through the integration of mechanistic understanding and knowledge grounding—addressing a critical challenge in making AI-driven discoveries more transparent, interpretable, and biologically meaningful.
