However its not law yet, the House and Senate have to come to an agreement soon on it. So there's still time to contact your Senator to stop this.

Sony has made it clear that it’s not changing course on ending physical PlayStation game discs ‘We’re Going To Cautiously Move This Forward’

During its latest earnings Q&A, Sony said it plans to “cautiously move this forward” despite backlash from fans.

The company acknowledged the feedback but said it hasn’t seen any negative impact on sales since announcing the change and still believes the industry is moving toward a digital future.

Sony also said the decision to announce the change so early was to give retailers time to prepare.
According to the company, data shows that most PlayStation players already buy games digitally, and it doesn’t see physical discs as a key factor in why people choose consoles over PC.

Soon enough, they will transform gaming into a streaming-only and/or subscription-only model where you own no games, not even via downloads and will make you subscribed for life to skim as much money as possible while releasing one or two half-decent games a year, if you’re lucky.

The worst things in the world didn’t happen overnight. They were taken step by step so that no one thinks it’s “that serious” until they’re way too deep into it that there’s no turning back.

It began with micro-transactions for cosmetics and a paid service for online play.

Now look at where we are, debating if “purchase” actually should mean to own or not.

It genuinely feels like we skipped to another timeline since July 1st, and everything since Sony’s announcement for ending physical games just ruined the taste of video games forever🚀

We were all so happy after Summer Games Week. Everything was so exciting, but now it’s like nothing feels the same anymore.

And it’s not just about CDs, it’s about Sony revealing its true face beyond all doubt.

The industry absolutely HATES gamers, and it couldn’t be more obvious, save for few true visionaries. The rest are just in it for the business aspect, with zero passion or integrity in them.

This $60 or $70 or $80 spent on games suddenly feels more expensive than spending $1000 on anything else, because it’s like paying to be lied to and disrespected.
