The average life expectancy in America is 76. We have been told for years that 50 is mid life and by 60 we can't do the things we love anymore. Your mid 30s are so important! Start taking care of your physical fitness early so you don't have to slow down in your 50s and 60s!
Getting sick is the worst, but getting sick after 60 can be a serious problem for some. A study done in 2018 shows that people over 60 who exercise are far less likely to get sick! Physical activity boosts the immune system while also making us physically healthier! lets work!
What is Osteoporosis?
The human body is constantly replacing bone tissue, and when the bone tissue replacement doesn't keep up with the loss this is the condition you get.
What are the signs?
- Back pain
- Stooped posture
- Loss of height over time
- Easily breakable bones
I love helping people ages 40-70. Strength training is neccesarry at all stages of life, however, this age group really needs it. Make sure to take time to invest in yourself.
As the bones get stronger, FALLS get less detrimental. I have many clients who have tripped over a hose, missed a stair, or fell over playing with grandkids..
They were OKAY! As you get older, you might lose your balance. Just make sure you are prepared.
Strength training and physical activity is the medicine that fixes most health issues! But how does it work?
Any activity that puts stress on the muscle also puts stress on the bones which puts the bone forming cells into action. Over time the bones get stronger!
what are the top 3 causes of osteoporosis in men and women?
- A drop in estrogen in women.
- A drop in testosterone in men.
- Being in the bed or chair too long after an injury or sickness.
All of these things tend to happen as we get older. what can we do to help?
Every day you’re in the gym or even putting a little bit more effort into a cleaner diet is a win! Not every day has to be the best day. As long as you’re trying to get better, you’re getting better.
🚂🚂
Losing weight every single month, sticking to the diet 100%, and making sure you do all of your cardio every single day is PERFECT. However, a lot of us aren’t perfect! Including me! Stop looking at fitness so one dimensional! Instead, see it as creating healthy habits for life.
Happy Monday! Easy tip for burning belly fat and getting stronger.. if you’re eating something and it doesn’t have 25g-50g of protein in it.. don’t eat it. Obviously there are some exceptions, but this is a good rule of thumb. Let’s have a good week! 🚂
Why do I prioritize squats in every single program? Because there is a direct correlation with how well you can stand up and sit down and the longevity of your life. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.
The foundations of fitness: strength training, cardio, diet. Get great at one of these and the other two will come naturally. It’s hard to perform any of these without the other two at a high level.
I’ve been helping people a long time. And theres usually an idea where if you mess up one thing about your fitness journey you have to start over. NOT the case. Keep at it one day and one meal at a time. You got this! 🚂💪🏼
If you’re struggling with pain. It’s not the end all be all. Doing something during the week to push in the right direction. Things like stretches and body weight squats will go a long way!
If you miss a workout. Do not worry! You can pick back up the next day. It’s not a week you can just throw away just because you missed it. Life happens! We are all humans so take it easy on yourself.
If you mess up one meal. Don’t worry it’s only one meal! Get back on track with the next one. It’s not the end of the world and your week is most definitely not ruined.
Happy Monday! Make protein the driver in every single meal. Having trouble with breakfast? Try to start your day off with 2 eggs, Greek yogurt, and 16oz water. Your body will thank you! 🚂

If you are between the ages of 50-75 and struggling to lose weight or even walk down the stairs without pain, I PROMISE it’s not too late. I have helped many people in this age range do things they never thought they would do. DM if this is you! I’d love to give you some tips!🚂
Stop trying to do everything at once. I’ve been a health professional for over 5 years now, and the biggest issue people have is wanting to everything! Diet, weights, cardio, and the list goes on. Do one thing at a time and I promise you’ll stick to it. 🚂
