This was my mom. She went home to Jesus on September 14, 2025.
She had advanced dementia. She couldn’t tell anyone what they did to her. She couldn’t defend herself. I was there every day after work, on lunch, surprise mornings — and I still found her injured, soiled, and alone.
Broken ribs. Broken nose. Lacerations. A bed sore. Falls that never should have happened.
I posted this so people would see what “care” actually looks like in too many Florida rehab and memory-care units. Corporate facilities. Thin staffing. Lawyers built to protect the building, not the resident who can’t testify.
If you have a parent in one of these places, show up unannounced. Document everything. Don’t assume someone else is watching.
She deserved dignity and justice.
