This man tried to steal my friend’s dog in Kings Cross yesterday. She got this picture of him. He has also been reported today doing the same thing in Belsize Park. Look out for him in North London dog owners x
@Carmensfella The theory of locking down those over 65 and most vulnerable to Covid19 whilst letting herd immunity form in the rest of the population is a good one, but simply impractical. What about multi generational households or carers in old people’s homes, for example?
@wheeliedealer The idea of making face coverings mandatory in shops is that if you know everyone is wearing one, and therefore less likely to spread the virus, you will be more inclined to go shopping and help retail recover.
@rhomboid1MF#MANO They work with insolvency practitioners to exploit claims, usually against former directors. Often they will buy the rights to the case from the liquidator. They get a very high success rate.
@vodkaquickstep “Good to Great” an excellent book. When investing it really helps to understand what makes a great business and that is largely down to great management. Look behind the scenes and not just at the PR.
I’ve no idea of the origins of this but this wonderful lady made me laugh so much, I want to share the joy. We need a little titter and I hope this 29 second clip brightens up your day.
@Carmensfella The demise of #Shearings might seem peripheral to many people but the impact on UK coastal resorts will be huge. And this is just the start, there will be a domino effect on the sector. The group operated nearly 50 hotels, many in second tier resorts, which the coaches kept full.
@lucy_sher The solution would be to test everyone, weekly. If they test positive then they isolate, with their contacts. That means testing around 10 million people each day. That gives you some idea of the scale of the challenge. Where could this even take place and how practical is it?
@Hawkeye_74 In the current world order it would depend what that £269m had been spent on. Best guess might be more Premier Inn hotels. I can see that being a tricky business for a year or more.
@mitch114418523@rhomboid1MF So they buy Tuffnells for £130m when making ~£10m op profit and give it away (they’re not actually being paid yet! but perhaps get £15m in three years time) less than six years later when it is losing ~£15m+....hey ho! My question...How come?
@TonyMcKelvie Do you think either/both of these measures could help us get through the cycles of lockdown and release to achieve herd immunity quicker or with fewer cycles but longer periods between them?
@mrianleslie The unanswered question, as far as I know, is what is the quality and length of immunity you get from having covid-19? Seems relevant to the post lock-down strategy, and whether herd immunity would be possible without a vaccine.
