My (Semi) Professional Twitter account for all things transport related (and interesting) plus maybe some bits on cities, urban fabric, tech & random stuff.
@YarraCouncil While the priority crossing on Scotchimer has been great for helping my kids cross the road, I had assumed the recent works would be to improve sight lines and safety, instead an over-supply of signage has been provided creating a confusing and inconsistent messages
Here's the cheat sheet for the Dan Andrews presser:
11am = not terrible
After 12pm = bad
Wearing a suit = real bad news
Sports jacket = moderately bad news
Northface jumper = it's the weekend
Wearing a suit on the weekend after 12pm = shit's fucked
@yarratrams@ptv_official Can I recommend you send one of your engineers out on-site to do a review of how pedestrians would manoeuvre around the works and be informed via wayfinding of what to do/where to go approaching from each of the closed side streets. There is lots of info regarding PTV services.
@yarratrams@ptv_official The R96 works the pedestrian connectivity and messaging for crossing is terrible and needs a full revisit. Cnr Scotchmer Nicholson these two signs are within 20m of each other - the correct one is not the one on the cnr. No signs on NE cnr - poor traders
@yarratrams@ptv_official This all makes it very hard to navigate around the works as a ped or a cyclist and to get from one side of the road to the other.
@yarratrams@ptv_official Hi Barkly Street one is currently incorrect. Also noted that there is no ped signage on the western side (other side) directing pedestrians or the other side streets joining Nicholson Street in the area. Information available online says to look onsite but no info or incorrect
William Barak was an influential spokesman for Aboriginal social justice and an important informant on Wurundjeri cultural lore. @ptv_official time to spell his name right?
Just encountered another dockless car obstructing the sidewalk. These things have become such a nuisance since they launched. The city really needs to start regulating private use of public space.
