Transit is a life line for TL residents like many others in SF. Transit to all & equitable transit to those who need it the most. I have bad grammar.🚎🚌⛴🚞🚃🚅

Iono, if there are this thing called a "war on cars" then the cars are really on the offensive. All we want is less cars, more transit, & safer streets for active communities & pedestrians. That's not a war to me, it's responsible, reasonable, & rational.
Another SFMTA Muni bus shuttle was destroyed by a car driver, this time on O’Shaughnessy Boulevard near Portola Drive.
This is the result of dangerously designed streets and a transportation system that prioritizes cars and driver convenience over people, safety, and the planet.
Join us in voting YES on Prop L! Prop L is a broadly supported, common-sense solution to reduce Muni service cuts, keep downtown recovering, and provide the reliable transit needed by San Francisco's seniors, families, and workers.

Two ways to help us win more funding for Muni transit service in November right now:
1. Donate at https://t.co/aLCa2MAGgh
2. Request a free window sign at https://t.co/wlwr97o8PA (beautiful and designed by @chrisarvinsf!)
The public can review and give feedback on the 2024 Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan draft, addressing the needs of older adults, people with disabilities, and low-income residents. Feedback is due by Aug. 7, 2024.

A BART-commissioned report found that, absent a new funding model, the agency would have to reduce service, with cuts imperiling transit access and the Bay Area’s climate goals.

Funny how Fare Enforcement seem to take over the convo on @SFMTA_Muni budget deficit when fares constitute 8-12% of revenue but gets like 80% of the attention.
San Francisco transit activists are pushing a ballot initiative that would tax profits that Waymo, Uber, Lyft and other “transportation network companies” earn while operating in the city to fund Muni.

we’re going to be up against a lot of big money in this election. if you have some $$ to spare to help us get the word out about investing in muni, all contributions are appreciated ❤️

Nothing more democratic & very grassroots than the @sftransitact !
The campaign submitted the signatures today! LET’S GOOOO FUND TRANSIT!
*note this act will generate an estimated $30 mil a year, its a great step in helping fund, maintain, & expand transit but lots still to do!
The proposal has already drawn the support of state Sen. Scott Wiener, city Supervisor Dean Preston and the Sierra Club.
Through the middle of last month, its backers had raised $118,352.

Great article by @peterhartlaub and @harshareports highlighting the necessity and joy of riding Muni. The beloved 67 was affected by pandemic cuts. Our measure tries to help prevent service cuts from the current funding crisis.

We’ve gathered over 17,500 signatures from San Franciscans who want to fund Muni! A big thank you to everyone who helped gather signatures for this measure. We’ve already shown that transit riders have the power to make it to the ballot.
We’ll be submitting soon; stay tuned!
Housing policy in the US will be prison for the homeless, market rate housing for people who can afford it,& the rest of us will wait for the trickle down effect of housing development. Transit policy will be: let public transit die to be replaced by private corpo-robocars.

BART is planning to run trains every five minutes through San Francisco starting Sunday morning, in what it says is its "most robust service ever" for San Francisco's Pride Parade. https://t.co/ceDBsJGSQU
Also worth noting that HR and the training department put in heroic efforts to hire and train lots of operators in the last three years since the Covid hiring freeze!
We are deeply saddened to learn that a 50-year-old woman was killed at the intersection of Toland Street and Jerrold Avenue last week. You can read our statement at https://t.co/1Uz1DTPtw3.
