Great way to end the year. My article titled "Creating domain-specific translation memories for machine translation fine-tuning: The TRENCARD bilingual cardiology corpus" is published in Revista Tradumàtica.

I introduce the concepts technological inflation and technological deflation for translators. I also created a Turkish - English bilingual corpus that can be used for different NLP tasks including MT fine-tuning. Enjoy :)

A very useful resource written by Google AI Scientists Varun Godlobe and Ellie Pavlick on effective prompting. I especially liked the section titled "Some thoughts on when LLMs are useful": "LLMs are best where the answer is hard to make, but is easy to check."

And since reading Erin Meyer's Culture Map book, I have been thinking about high context and low context cultures and how their interactions will be with LLMs. It is nice that the authors highlight some anecdotal insights. It can be a beautiful research topic.
