I appreciate your follow out here on X / Twitter.
If you care for a more personal experience and not just album release anniversaries and artist birthdays but pics from the DJ booth, record stores, gig lists, tour announcements, ‘80s & new wave memes, my dog…*cough* album release anniversaries and artist birthdays (but with music!) … and ‘stories’ with bands and artists I work with then Instagram might interest you as well.
I apologize in advance for the lack of food pics.

I never for a second take for granted that I get to work with a lot of amazing artists in my career…but what doesn’t happen often is working with an absolute legend.
I am beyond THRILLED to announce that on Wednesday, August 21st at The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis, I will be bringing Midge Ure to the stage with a set.
How is Midge a legend? Let me count the ways…
- An integral member of two important and influential bands from the ‘80s … Ultravox and Visage.
- He wrote or co-wrote some of the decades best jams (that I still play on and at Transmission regularly) including: “Fade to Grey” “Vienna” “Dancing with Tears in My Eyes” “The Damned Don’t Cry” “Reap the Wild Wind” “Hymn”
- He co-organised Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof.
- He co-wrote and produced the charity single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” - the second-highest-selling single in UK chart history.
- He turned down an offer to be the lead vocalist of the Sex Pistols - truth!
Hell, I could go on and on with the milestones of Mr. Ure’s career, but I’ll let him tell the rest through his music and stories at the Parkway in August.
I truly hope we will see you there on what’s bound to be a magically musical night!

Driving home on a snowy night, after spending time dealing with storage and on comes @TransmissionTC; here’s a little bit of those “80’s vibes” that both turned up in sorting through the wreckage. Thanks for the drive music, @JakeRudh. Pre sobriety me and one of the Walkmans.
This is a small section of my college room from close to 30 years ago…which possibly makes me qualified to host tonight’s annual event.🇬🇧
Transmission, Brit’s Pub and Bar Diver Cocktails would like to invite you to “ I ❤ UK” this Saturday, February 17th. 🇬🇧
It’s 100% UK artists, 100% music videos and 100% free. 🇬🇧
We span all genres that have made a splash in the UK music scene throughout the years with Bits ‘n Bobs from the swingin’ ‘60s, ‘70s Glam, Pub and Punk Rock, ‘70s/‘80s Post-Punk, 2 Tone Ska, Mod Revival, New Wave and Synth Pop, ‘90s Madchester, Shoegaze and Brit Pop through today’s UK indie scene. 🇬🇧
We will start at 8 pm and finish at the stroke of midnight (though the pub will remain open longer…and judging by previously packed years I’m guessing so will the DJ & dance floor lol.).🇬🇧
‘Nothing ventured nothing gained’!🇬🇧
p.s. If you think it’s impressive to hear a Saint Paul stadium singing “Wonderwall” … then you might not have attended one of these events!🇬🇧
