'Transnational Scotland' explores the transnational history of Scotland through the objects of its historical global trades in cotton, jute, sugar, and herring.

And finally we made it to the recently reopened @WattInstitution in Greenock. Visit for collections in local histories of sugar and shipbuilding, and don’t miss the taxidermy upstairs #MuseumsUnlocked

Back in Fife we visited @scotfishmuseum to talk herring, pirates and immersive experiences, and learn how to tie cloots. #MuseumsUnlocked

Then to @newlanarkwhs where we focused on Scottish cotton production and its links with Indian markets & the Transatlantic Slave System. And stitched a huge transnational map thanks to @AliceKettle! #MuseumsUnlocked

Next to @VADundee, who bravely let us loose in the Scottish galleries to discuss decolonizing practices with the help of @victoriaadukwei and Dr Hannah Young. #MuseumsUnlocked
